Nick Diaz Wiki Biography

Nickolas Robert Diaz was born 2nd August 1983, in Stockton, California USA, of mixed American Mexican descent. He is a mixed martial artist, at present engaged in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. Nick Diaz is the winner of WEC Welterweight Championship and Strikeforce Welterweight Championship. More, Diaz is the owner of Brazilian Jui Jitsu black belt. He has been active in the sports industry since 2001.

You wonder, whether a martial artist who owns so many awards is rich? It has been reported that the overall amount of Nick Diaz’s net worth is $3 million as of today. The main source of his wealth is sport, to be precise, mixed martial arts.

The sportsman’s childhood was rather tough as he grew up without his father and was bullied by stronger and bigger children. While studying at school he was a member of the swimming team, which helped him to develop stamina. When a teenager he began training in aikido and karate, which he found useful while fighting for himself, and also took part in wrestling tournaments. In this way, mixed martial arts were very significant as it became not only a tool to avoid bullies but also a source of his wealth. In addition to this, he was constantly taking part in triathlon competitions. In spite of the fact that he was a good sportsman, Nick was not into studying, and as a result he dropped out of high school with a view to taking up sports professionally. It was Valeri Ignatov, the Sambo Champion from Bulgaria, who began training him in Sambo. Diaz is trained by the same couch up to now.

Nick Diaz debuted in professional sport in 2001. With the first victory which he managed to achive just after his 18th birthday, the period of endless battles started. Fortunately, it was covered not only by the sorrow of defeat but the joy of many victories. Nick Diaz won the Ultimate Fighting Championship and was awarded with the Fight of the Night for his victory against B.J. Penn and Submussion on the Night for the winning against Josh Neer. Moreover, he won the Strikeforce Welterweight Championship and has been called for the Most Successful Welterweight Defenses three times and for the Most Consecutive Welterweight Defenses three times.

To continue, Diaz was the winner of the WEC Welterweight Championship. Furthermore, participating in the International Fighting Championship he became the winner of IFC USA and IFA Americas Welterweight Championship. He received two Sherdog Awards for the Round of the Year 2011 (with Paul Daley) and All-Violence First Team 2011. In addition to this, he was also successful Jiu-Jitsu fighter. He became the Purple Belt Gold Medalist in 2004 and won Pan-American Brown Belt Medium Weight Division Championship in Pan-American Championship Jiu Jitsu. Needless to mention the fact, that all those victories have increased his wealth considerably.

However, it‘s possible that Nick Diaz will now retire, as a result of alleged drug abuse apparently detected in testing recently.

In his private life, there are plenty of rumours about Nick Diaz having girlfriends, but nothing and no-one is substantiated.
