Robert Emile DeLeo Wiki Biography
Robert Emile DeLeo was born on 2 February 1966, in Montclair, New Jersey, USA and is best known as a bass player, backing vocalist and songwriter who plays in the band Stone Temple Pilots.
So just how rich is Robert DeLeo as of late 2017? According to authoritative sources, this musician has net worth of $1.5 million, with his wealth being accumulated from his career in the previously mentioned field.
DeLeo was raised in the Jersey Shore community alongside his brother Dean, who would become a member of Stone Temple Pilots too. As a result of unusual circumstances, Robert met Scott Weiland, who would later on become his band mate, and realized that they were both dating the same woman. After she moved away, the two of them moved into her apartment and tried to form a band there, soon teaming- up with drummer Eric Kretz. DeLeo convinced his brother Dean to join the band, and so Mighty Joe Young, which would later on be renamed into Stone Temple Pilots, was formed. The band went on to perform in the Los Angeles area, and ultimately signed a deal with Atlantic Records in 1992, however as the name Mighty Joe Young was taken, they had to find another name for the band. Stone Temple Pilots eventually became one of the most successful bands in the ‘90s, with their hit songs ‘’Plush’’ – which peaked at number one at the Album Rock Tracks in addition to achieving notable success on other charts – and ‘’Interstate Love Song’’ which took the number one spot at the Billboard Album Rock Tracks. Despite their success, other members of the band had problems with Weiland’s drug addiction, and the hiatus of Stone Temple Pilots began in 1997, when Robert, his brother Dean and their band colleague, Kretz formed another band, Talk Show with Dave Coutts. However, the band faced a commercial failure after they released their self-entitled album, which featured 12 tracks. During that time, DeLeo’s band mate, Weiland was attending rehab and working on his solo projects.
When it comes to Robert’s further career, he joined the band named Army of Anyone, alongside his brother Dean. They released their debut album, ‘’Army of Anyone’’ in November 2016, which went on to score notable commercial success, and was even called one of the best albums of the year by some. However, the band didn’t succeed in repeating their success, and thus went on a hiatus. Speaking of the most recent past, DeLeo appeared with the international band, Kings of Chaos.
In addition to being a singer, DeLeo also worked at Schecter Guitar Research, and there he made the Schecter Model T, a 34’’ scale neck bass with Duncan pickups, which he used in his live performances with Stone Temple Pilots.
Speaking about Robert’s private life, he has been married to Kristen since 1999, and the couple has two sons together. He is active on social media websites such as Twitter, on which he has more than 11,700 followers.
