Petey Pablo Wiki Biography
Moses Mortimer Barrett III was born on the 22nd July 1973, in Greenville, North Carolina USA. The world knows him as a rapper and actor under his stage name Petey Pablo. Over the course of his career he has released two studio albums, both certified Gold as they sold over 100,000 copies in the first week of release. His career as a musician has been active since 1995.
Have you ever wondered how rich Petey Pablo is? According to sources, it is estimated that Petey’s overall net worth is $50,000, an amount earned mostly through his career as a musician, however, adding to his net worth, he has also been recognized as an actor, appearing in the films “Cryptid” (2006) and “Just Another Day” (2009).
Petey grew up in a bad neighborhood which no doubt resulted in him having trouble with the law since his teen years. When he was 20 years old he was jailed for five years for armed robbery, however, upon release, he decided to dedicate himself to music, determined to avoid further problems with the law. He moved to New York, and appeared in several clubs as a solo artist under his adopted stage name, and eventually met up with rappers Busta Rhymes and Black Rob. Pablo soon signed with Jive Records and his career was ready to begin, as was his net worth.
In 2001, Petey entered the music scene on a red carpet, releasing the single “Raise Up”, which was produced by Timbaland, and hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart at the No. 25, and served as an introduction to Pablo`s debut album “Diary Of A Sinner: 1St Entry. The album was certified gold as it sold over 100,000 copies in the first week. As the first album was a major success, Petey continued to pave his way further into the music scene, increasing his popularity and net worth in 2004 when he released his second album, “Still Writing In My Diary: 2nd Entry”. The album hit the Billboard 200 chart at No. 4, and sold 117,000 copies in its first week of release. On this album Petey collaborated with many popular artists of the American music scene, such as Missy Elliott, Lil Jon and Kanye West among others. The album also featured Petey`s hit single Freak-A-Leak which peaked at No. 7 on the Hot 100 chart.
After the release of his second album, Petey left the music scene in order to pursue a career of an actor. His first successful involvement as an actor which increased his net worth came in 2006, when he appeared in the film “Crypted”, followed by a role in the film “Just Another Day” released in 2009, both of which assisted the growth of his net worth
However, his acting career was cut short in 2010, when he was arrested at the Raleigh-Durham International Airport for carrying a stolen gun. He was sentenced to 35 months jail, with a release date of 17th July 2014. While in prison, Pablo returned to music, releasing a mixtape entitled “Carolina #1” through his own record label, which he founded after the release of his second album, “Carolina Music Group”.
After he was released from prison, Petey returned to acting, and has appeared in the TV series “Empire” (2015), adding to his net worth, Petey is also working on his third album, which is yet to be released. Clearly his net worth has a good chance of rising, if he can stay out of trouble with the law.
Regarding his personal life, Pablo has been married to Amy Caro since October 2001; the couple has two children. Before meeting Amy, Pablo was married to Monica Arnold from 1998 to 2000.
