Liane Moriarty, born on the 15th of November 1966, is an Australian author who became famous for her novels “The Husband Secret”, and “Big Little Lies” that was recently turned into a television series in HBO.

So how much is Moriarty’s net worth? As of early 2018, based on authoritative sources it is reported to be over $1 million, acquired from her years working as an author.

Born in Sydney, Australia, Moriarty is the oldest of six children one of which is Jaclyn Moriarty, also a fellow author.

Right after studying, Moriarty’s career started in advertising and marketing working at a legal publishing company. Later on she opened her own company called The Little Ad Agency, but unfortunately it didn’t succeed.

Moriarty got an awakening when she heard that her sister’s novel “Feeling Sorry for Celia” was about to be published. She took a master’s degree at Macquarie University and later on wrote her first book “Three Wishes” in 2004, as part of completing her studies.

Moriarty’s second book followed in 2006 entitled “The Last Anniversary”, and in 2009 she also started writing children’s books under the name L.M. Moriarty, including “The Petrifying Problem with Princess Petronella”, “The Shocking Trouble on the Planet of Shobble”, and “The Wicked War on the Planet of Whimsy” released from 2009 to 2010. Her early years as an author helped establish her career and also her net worth.

In 2010, Moriarty went back to writing adult novels, and “What Alice Forgot” was published the following year, which she followed with “The Hypnotist’s Love Story”. But it was her novel “The Husband’s Secret” that catapulted her career to new heights. The novel sold over three million copies worldwide, and tremendously helped her reputation and boosted her wealth as well.

Moriarty’s next work “Big Little Lies” also became another huge hit. It debuted at number one on The New York Times bestseller list, and she became the first Australian author to achieve that feat. With the book’s success, soon the cable network HBO picked up her book, and bought the rights to turn it into a series with the same title, which also became a success, starring Reese Witherspoon, Nicole Kidman and Shailene Woodley, and which was shown during the first half of 2017, and a second series has recently been announced.

After 14 years, today Moriarty is still active as an author. Her most recent work is the novel “Truly Madly Guilty” released in 2016.

In terms of her personal life, Moriarty lives in Sidney with her husband Adam and their two children George and Anna.
