Michael Scott Shannon, born on the 25th of July 1947, is an American disc jockey who became famous for his shows including “Z Morning Zoo”, “Scott Shannon Presents America’s Greatest Hits” and “The Sean Hannity Show”.

So how much is Shannon’s net worth? As of mid-2017, based on authoritative sources it is reported to be over $2 million, acquired from his years working as a DJ in various radio stations, and for also being a VJ and Program Director, during a career which began in the late 1960s.

Born in St. Louis, Missouri, Shannon spent most of his time growing up in Indianapolis, Indiana. Right after matriculating from high school, he followed his family’s military footsteps and enrolled in a military school.Shannon’s career in radio started in his military school years, in which he joined WFBS 1450 in Spring Lake, North Carolina and later on worked at WCLS 1580 AM in Columbus, Ohio, deciding to leave the military and become full-time at WABB in Mobile, Alabama. His early years as a DJ established his career, and also helped start his net worth.

After WABB, Shannon was briefly employed at WMPS in Memphis, and then moved to Nashville to become the evening host at WMAK 1300 AM. Dur.

During the ‘70s, Shannon also had a brief adventure into music, when he recorded “Here Comes Summer” with Jack Grochmal, also becoming a record promoter with Casablanca Records, but soon went back to radio.Other stations that Shannon worked with included WPGC-FM in Washington D.C., in which he made the station number 1 in ratings, WQXI in Atlanta, and WRBQ-FM in Tampa, Florida.

Despite having an already stellar career, Shannon is most known for his work on the radio station Z100 in New York during the mid ‘80s. He and Ross Brittain created the “Z Morning Zoo”, and within a matter of months became the top rated station in New York. During this time, he also hosted “Scott Shannon’s Rockin’ America: The Top 30 Countdown”. His success in radio catapulted his career, and tremendously helped his wealth.

After a few years, Shannon left Z100 and ventured into other radio stations; he worked in Pirate Radio, KQLZ for a while, but his show failed to take off. He went back to New York in 1991 and joined WPLJ where he started “The Big Show” along with Todd Pettengill. Aside from being the host, he also worked as the stations program director. He once again made the station a success, but decided to leave in 2014.

Today, Shannon is still active in the radio industry. He is currently hosting “Scott Shannon in the Morning” at WCBS FM, and is also the voice of “The Sean Hannity Show”.

Some of Shannon’s accolades include being named “Program Director of the Century” by FMQB magazine. He was also inducted into the National Association of Broadcasters Hall of Fame in Washington D.C. in 2003, and into the National Radio Hall of Fame in Chicago in 2006.

In terms of his personal life, Shannon has been married to Patricia Martin since 1984, and together they have a daughter.
