Deborah Ann Boone Wiki Biography
Deborah Anne Boone was born on the 22nd September 1956, in Hackensack, New Jersey USA, and is an award-winning musician best known for her hit songs “You Light Up My Life” (1977), and “Are You on the Road to Lovin’ Me Again” (1980), among many others.
Have you ever wondered how rich Debby Boone is as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources it has been estimated that Boone’s net worth is as high as $10 million, an amount earned through her successful career as a musician. She has also tried herself as an actress, appearing on stage in productions of “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers” (1981-1982), “The Sound of Music” (1990), and “Grease” during the ‘90s. She has featured on screens too, in such titles as “The Gift of the Magi” (1978), “Hollywood Safari” (1997), and “Come On, Get Happy: The Partridge Family Story” (1999), which also improved her wealth.
Debby is the third daughter of four to famous singer-actor Pat Boone, and his wife Shirley Boone (nee Foley), daughter of country music star Red Foley. The moment she matured enough, Debby started touring with her parents and alongside her three sisters, Cherry, Lindy, and Laury sang and recorded with parents under the name The Pat Boone Family. However, the girls started out on their own, and recorded four studio albums under name The Boone Girls and The Boones.
Debby then ventured into music industry solo, after several recordings with the family, and scored a hit single immediately – “You Light Up My Life” – and released an album with the same title, achieving platinum status in US, reaching No. 6 on the US Country and US Billboard 200 charts, while it topped the charts in Canada. By the end of the ‘70s she had released two more albums – “Midstream” (1978) and “Debby Boone” (1979), but to mixed reviews. Nevertheless, she re-emerged onto the music top tier with the hit single “Are You on the Road to Lovin’ Me Again”, found on her 1980 album “Love Has No Reason”.
The same year she started making Christian music, and released her first Christian album “With My Song”. Throughout the ‘80s she focused on Christian music and released albums such as “Surrender” (1983), which reached No. 7 on the US Christian chart, “Choose Life” (1985), which also settled in 7th spot, then “Friends for Life” (1987), which reached No. 4 and eventually “Be Thou My Vision” (1989), which wasn’t as popular as her previous releases, stopping at No. 23. After that, Debby retired from the entertainment industry to focus more on her children, but after they had grown, she returned with the album “Reflections of Rosemary”, released in 2005. Her next venture was infomercial for Lifestyle Lift in 2012.
Regarding her personal life, Debby has been married to Gabriel Ferrer since 1979; the couple has four children. Her husband is the son of Jose Ferrer and Rosemary Clooney, and was brother with the late actor Miguel Ferrer and is the brother of actor Rafael Ferrer. Furthermore, he is cousin of George Clooney and nephew to Nick Clooney, journalist.
