How rich is Ali Campbell? As of mid-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $1 million, mostly earned through a successful career in music. He’s embarked on a solo career, and is also part of the judging panel of “New Zealand’s Got Talent”. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.

Ali is the son of Scottish folk singer Ian Campbell. He started his career forming the pop and reggae band UB40 in 1978. They would eventually become popular, having a diverse set of musicians, and achieve international success, increasing their net worth significantly. They were nominated four Grammy Awards for Best Reggae Album, and also got a Brit Award nomination for Best British Group. The band released hit singles such as “Food for Thought”, “Red Red Wine”, and “Can’t Help Falling in Love”, and their most successful albums include “Labour of Love”, and “Promises and Lies”.

In 2007, Campbell decided to release a solo album entitled “Running Free”, which would gain gold certification in the UK; it was the first top ten entry for him since UB40’s “Labour of Love”.

The following year he decided to quit the group, but performed with the group a few more times in Uganda, New Zealand, as well as Australia. He then issued a statement on their website that he was unhappy with the business practices of the managers of UB40, and launched an investigation into the financial handling of the business, and eventually left. The keyboard player Michael Virtue also came to the same conclusion a few months later, and left the band too. Ali continued on with his solo career, in 2010 releasing “Great British Songs”, a collection of hits from the 1960s and 1970s. The album reached the top 15 of the charts. and would also reach the top spot of the iTunes reggae album chart.

In 2012, he then joined the judging panel of “New Zealand’s Got Talent” alongside Jason Kerrison and Rachel Hunter, remaining with the program for two seasons.

In 2014, Ali announced that he would reunite with former UB40 bandmates to record the new album “Silhouette” – thanks to the band’s success, they were given an Ivor Novello Award for international achievement. He was also awarded a Mauritius Government Award for his services in music and charity.

For his personal life, it is known that Ali has been married to Julie since 2006, and they have two children. He also has six other children from other relationships. His brother is Robin Campbell who also became the frontman of UB40.
