Have you ever wondered how rich Al Horford is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Horford’s net worth is as high as $20 million, earned through his successful career as a professional basketball player. In addition to playing, Horford has also had various endorsement deals, which have improved his wealth too.

Al Horford is a son of a former NBA player Tito Horford; his family moved to Lansing, Michigan in 2000, where Al went to the Grand Ledge High School. Horford was the school’s best player, and set seven records, including most career points. He received an athletic scholarship from Florida University, and in 2004 Al joined the Gators and the future NBA fellows Joakim Noah, Corey Brewer, and David Lee.

Al helped the Gators to win the NCAA Final Four in both 2006 and 2007 seasons, and his achievements were recognized when the Atlanta Hawks selected him as the 3rd pick overall in the 2007 NBA Draft. In his rookie season, Horford averaged 10.1 points, 9.7 rebounds, and 31.4 minutes in 81 games (77 starts), which secured him a place in the NBA All-Rookie First Team (2008). Horford slightly improved the following season, but then in the 2009-10 season, he averaged 14.2 points, 9.9 rebounds, and 35.1 minutes per game, and earned his first invitation to the NBA All-Star game, which he would repeat in the next campaign as well. In November 2010, Al signed a fresh, five-year contract worth $60 million, but in the 2011-12, he missed 55 games due to a torn left pectoral muscle.

However, the next season, Horford had his best year yet in averaging 17.4 points, 10.2 rebounds (career high), 3.2 assists, 1.1 steals (career high), and 37.2 minutes (career high) per game. Still, the Hawks failed to past the first round of the play-offs as the Indiana Pacers beat them in six games. In the 2012-13 season, Al appeared in 29 matches, suffering a tear of his right pectoral muscle, which forced him to miss the rest of the year. He bounced back in 2014-15 and played a big part in Atlanta’s first ever appearance in the Eastern Conference Finals, where the Cleveland Cavaliers swept them. The Cavs also defeated the Hawks in four matches the following season in the second round, but Horford still managed to get the All-Star invitation for two years in a row.

In July 2016, Horford became an unrestricted free agent, and the Boston Celtics signed him to a four-year, $113 million deal that significantly increased his wealth. In his first season with the Celtics, Al averaged 14.0 points, 6.8 rebounds, 5.0 assists (career high), and 32.3 minutes in 68 games. They also made it to the Eastern Conference Finals, but the Cleveland Cavaliers beat them in five games.

Regarding his personal life, Al Horford has been married to 2003 Miss Universe Amelia Vega since 2011, and they have two children together.
