So how much is Holm’s net worth? As of early 2016, it is reported by sources to be an estimated $2 million, consisting mostly of her winnings, endorsements and pay-per-view earnings from her fights.
Holm grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico together with her three siblings. She attended Manzano High School where her love for wrestling started to emerge, but her parents, Roger and Tammy discouraged the sport so Holm settled for kickboxing instead. During one of her aerobics classes, her coach Mike Winkeljohn discovered her potential and began training her.
At the age of 20, in 2001 Holm won her first amateur fight in kickboxing in the IKF USA National Amateur Championship Tournament. The following year she became a professional boxer, and later that year became a professional kickboxer as well.
Because of Holm’s natural talent, her career progressed quickly, increasing her popularity and net worth. In 2005 and 2006 she was named by Ring Magazine as female Fighter of the Year, and in 2008 she dethroned Mary Jo Sanders and was named the undisputed welterweight champion. Though she endured a lost in 2011 to Anne Sophie Mathis, she asked for a rematch and defeated her in 2012.
Although active in the world of professional boxing, since 2011 Holm has been competing in mixed martial arts fights. She debuted in March, defeating Christina Domke in the second round, and in September once again won against long time MMA fighter, Jan Finney.
In 2013, Holm announced that she would be retiring from boxing to focus on her career as a mixed martial artist., and ended her boxing career with a win against Mary McGee. She finished with an impressive record of 33 wins, 2 losses, and 3 draws, and also an 18-time world champion, making her one of the best female boxers in the world. Her net worth had risen accordingly.
In 2014, she signed a deal with the Ultimate Fighting Championship for five fights. Her first fight was in November with Raquel Pennington whom she defeated via split decision. In 2015, she won against Marion Reneau via unanimous decision. However, her biggest fight to date was when she defeated bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey. The well attended event in November of 2015 ended in a knockout in the second round, ending Rousey’s clean record of zero losses, and dethroned her as reigning champion after three years. Aside from the fame, the match also increased Holm’s net worth tremendously, gaining bonuses for her “Fight of the Night” and “Performance of the Night” awards. It was also reported that Holm took home an estimated $1.5 million in Pay-Per-View earnings for the fight.
In terms of her personal life, Holm has been married since 2012 to businessman Jeff Kirkpatrick.

Holly Holm Quotes
- If you don’t take the opportunities that are presented then how are you ever going to get somewhere?
- It doesn’t matter what odds are on paper or what’s happened before, it matters what happens that moment.
- I love being a preacher’s daughter. I think that a lot of that even helped with my career I have now. Dealing with different personalities, and different families, and kind of being the center of the church… I felt like dealing with all those different personalities and kind of seeing expectations has made it easier for me to just be even keel with the pressures I have now.
- You don’t walk in thinking, “I’m going to hurt this person.” You walk in knowing that if it were up to them, they would be doing it to you. So you’re in there for survival. You both are shooting for a dream.
- You don’t care if you get hurt as long as you walk away with a win. It’s the end of the world… if you lose a fight it feels like the end of the world.
- Nothing gives this much of a rush when you win. It’s a really rewarding feeling. It’s different because it’s all you. You don’t have a team to rely on. You have to perform, but you also have to take away their game plan so it’s little more of a chess match and just more of a sweet victory, I guess. So it’s a little addicting.
- I admire her. [Ronda Rousey] I think she’s done great. I think that every woman in this sport actually owes her a bit of respect because she’s done a lot to help it get to where it’s at.
