Vicente Fox Wiki Biography
Vicente Fox Quesada was born on the 2nd July 1942, in Mexico City, Mexico, of part-German ancestry through his father, and part-Basque through his mother. He is a politician and businessman, but best known to the world as the 55th President of Mexico, serving the country in that position from 2000 until 2006. Currently, he serves as the Co-President of the Centrist Democrat International, which represents center-right political parties of the world.
Have you ever wondered how rich Vicente Fox is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Fox’s net worth is as high as $10 million, earned largely through his successful political career, but Vicente has authored his biography too, entitled “Revolution of Hope: The Life, Faith and Dreams of a Mexican President”, published in 2007, the sales of which have also improved his wealth.
Vicente is the son of José Luis Fox Pont and his wife Mercedes Quesada Etxaide; he and his eight siblings grew up on the family ranch in San Francisco del Rincón in Guanajuato. Following high school matriculation, Vicente enrolled at Universidad Iberoamericana, from which he graduated with a bachelor’s degree in business administration. Several years later, he continued his education at Harvard Business School in the USA, from which he received a diploma in Management Skills in 1973.
After graduation he found a job at Coca-Cola Company as a route supervisor, and truck driver. However, he progressed rapidly to become supervisor of Coca-Cola’s Mexico operations, and then in all of Latin America.
However, in the late ‘80s he started pursuing a career in politics, and joined the Partido Acción Nacional. In 1988, he participated in the elections for the federal Chamber of Deputies, and was elected to represent the Third Federal District in León, Guanajuato. Three years later he ran to become Governor of Guanajuato, but lost to Ramón Aguirre Velázquez of the PRI. However, the people were dissatisfied, and Carlos Medina Plascencia was appointed Governor, until 1995 when Vicente again ran and became the Governor of Guanajuato. He held the position until 1999, when he decided to run for the Mexican Presidency, and was successful, as he was elected 55th President of Mexico. During his reign, Vicente’s net worth increased to a large degree, and he ruled Mexico until 2006, after which he left office.
Following his departure, Vicente stayed present in public, preferably visiting other nations, including Nigeria, Canada, Ireland, and USA, speaking about the 2006 Mexican elections and war in Iraq. Most recently he had his say on Donald Trump’s campaign and resolutions, criticizing his whole candidacy.
Year after he left the office, Vicente became Co-President of the Centrist Democratic International, and still serves in position.
Regarding his personal life, Vicente has been married to Marta Sahagun since 2001. Previously, he was married to Lilian de la Concha from 1972 until 2001, and they had adopted four children, while being together.
Fox has founded Vicente Fox Center of Studies, Library and Museum, a presidential history center, and the Fox Center Civil Association.
