The Chemical Brothers Wiki Biography
The Chemical Brothers are an electronic duo who originated in Manchester, England, when the Ed Simons and Tom Rowlands decided to make music of their own. Over the course of their career, the duo has released a total of eight studio albums, which are the main source of their net worth, however, they are also highly praised as a live act, touring all the main events in their music genre, adding to their net worth.
Have you ever wondered how rich The Chemical Brothers are? According to sources, it is estimated that their overall net worth is $22 million, an amount acquired through their successful career in music spanning more than 25 years.
The members of the group were childhood classmates, and because of their troubled childhood they turned to music, and it was not long before they began creating their own music. In 1992 the duo began working as DJs in a club called “Naked Under Leather”, playing techno, hip hop and house, under the name The 237 Turbo Nutters, but soon changed their name to “The Dust Brothers”. Under that name, they managed to release one song entitled “Call To The Siren”, and the EP “Fourteenth Century“ (1994) through the Junior Boy’s Own label, owned by DJ Andrew Weatherall. However, when they started touring, they needed to change their name, because it was already used by producers E.Z Mike and King Gizmo.
They decided on “The Chemical Brothers” and their first full length album was released in 1995, entitled “Exit Planet Dust”. The album was an immediate success on its release, and it received numerous positive reviews from famous music magazines, including the Allmusic and Q. From that point on, their net worth began to increase, and with every successful release it became greater. Their second album was released in 1997, entitled “Dig Your Own Hole”, and topped the UK album charts, increasing their net worth to a large degree.
In the following years, The Chemical Brothers became one of the greatest groups of the dance music scene, so far releasing six more albums, including “Come With Us“ (2002), “We Are The Night” (2007), “Push The Button” (2005), which all peaked at No.1 on the UK album charts, “Hanna” (2011), which was used as a soundtrack for the film of the same name, and their latest release “Born In The Echoes” (2015). Some of the songs that increased the group`s popularity and the sold copies of the albums include, “Setting Sun”, “Block Rocking Beats”, “Hey Boy Hey Girl”, “Galvanize” and “Do It Again” among others.
Over the course of their career, the group has collaborated with many notable artists of the world’s music scene such as Noel Gallagher, Q-Tip, k-os and many others. The group`s net worth has also benefited from their live shows, as they are praised as one of the best live acts, touring throughout the world, participating in every major festival, including Fuji Rock, HFStival, and Glastonbury among others.
The Chemical Brothers have also won several awards, some of them are a Grammy Award for Best ElectronicDance Album for their “Push The Button” release and the same award for their “We Are The Night” album.
Regarding the personal lives of the respective members of the group; Ed Simons was born on the 9th June 1970 in Herne Hill, London. He attended the Alleyn’s School and Dulwich College, and after graduation he enrolled the University of Manchester.
Tom Rowlands was born on the 11th January 1971 in Kingston, Surrey. Before he became the world known DJ, he attended the Reading Blue Coat School in Berkshire, and later enrolled the University of Manchester where he met Ed Simons: the rest is history.
