Sidney R. Rice was born on 1st September 1986, in Gaffney, South Carolina USA, and is a retired American Football player, who played for the Minnesota Vikings and Seattle Seahawks in wide receiver position from 2007 until 2014, when he retired due to constant trouble with injuries.

He also won two state titles with the basketball team and a championship with the football team. The second year brought new problems for the young Rice, as he only recorded 141 receiving yards since knee problems continued into the new season. Nevertheless, he managed to recover for his third season, in which he had eight touchdowns out of 1,312 yards. That was the best season in his short career, and thanks to that great performance, Sidney earned an appearance in the Pro-Bowl match, and selection into All-Pro team by Pro Football Focus.

However, the season was also unfortunate for Rice as he suffered another injury; Sidney hurt his hip against the New Orleans Saints in the match for the NFC Championship. He was in doubt whether to undergo a surgery or not, and waited until the training camp for next season.He missed the first couple of games for the Vikings, and when he returned to the field, Sidney caught three passes for 56 yards. In total, he played in six games and scored two touchdowns with 280 yards.

After the season ended, the Vikings didn’t re-sign Sidney and as a result, he joined the Seattle Seahawks, signing a contract worth $41 million over five years, which increased his net worth by a large margin.
