Sean Schemmel Wiki Biography

Sean Christian Schemmel was born on the 21st November 1968, in Waterloo, Iowa USA, and is a voice actor best known for providing the voice of Goku from the Japanese manga series franchise “Dragon Ball”, in which he also voiced King Kai and Nail. He has served as ADR director and script writer for animated licensing companies such as Funimation, NYAV Post, 4licensing Corporation (4Kids Entertainment), Central Park Media and DuArt Films. His career has been active since the 1990s.

Have you ever wondered how rich Sean Shemmel is, as of late 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Sean`s net worth is as high as $3 million, an amount earned through his successful career, during which he has more than 100 voice over credits to his name; apart from “Dragon Ball” series, Sean has voiced characters from such animated shows as “Blue Gender” (2001), “Pokemon” (2003-2015), “Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal” (2011-2015), “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (2003-2009), among many others.

Ever since an early age, Sean has been interested in video games and animated cartoons, a passion which he carried with himself into adult age.

He joined Funimation in the 1990s, and in 1999 replaced Peter Kelamis as the voice of Goku in the animated series “Dragon Ball”. Since then, Sean has voiced Goku in every installment and sequel of the original series, while also giving his voice to the main character in films and video games based on the series, including “Dragon Ball Z: The Tree of Might” (2006), “Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods” (2014), “Dragon Ball Z: Budokai” (2002), “Dragon Ball Z: Shin Budokai” (2006), “Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 3” (2007), “Dragon Ball Z: For Kinect” (2012), “Dragon Ball Xenoverse” (2015), and “Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2” (2016), all of which steadily increased his net worth.Apart from “Dragon Ball”, Sean has worked on other animated TV series, such as “Samurai Deeper Kyo” (2003), “Shaman King” (2003-2005), “One Piece” (2004-2009), “Fullmetal Alchemist” (2004), “Sonic X” (2005-2006), ‘Midori Days” (2005), and “Mobile Suit Gundam Unicorn RE:0096” (2016), among others, which further increased his net worth.

In addition to anime, Sean has lent his voice to American animated shows – his first was “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” (2003-2009), and then he did the voice of Firefly in “G.I. Joe: Sigma 6” (2005-2006). Some of his most famous works include “Wulin Warriors” (2006), “Spped Racer: The Next Generation” (2008-2009), “DC Super Friends” (2015), “Sofia the First” (2015), and “Trip Tank” (2016), all of which steadily added to his net worth.

Regarding his personal life, Sean has two divorces behind him; his first wife was Melissa Denise Cox, from 1993 until 1998, and the same year he divorced Melissa he married voice actress Melodee Lenz; their marriage lasted until 2001.
