Roberto Guzmán Rosado Jr. Wiki Biography
Roberto Guzman Rosado Jr. – better known by his artistic name Tru Life – is a rapper and actor born on 19th March 1976, in Lower East Side, Manhattan, New York City, USA. He was briefly signed to Jay Z’s Roc-A-Fella Records label before being incarcerated soon after for a second degree gang assault in 2009. Some of his most notable work includes the 2001 album „Cryin’ Out Loud“ and mixtapes „The New New York: The Movement“(2005) and „Tru York“(2007).
Have you ever wondered how rich Tru Life is? According to sources, it has been estimated that Tru Life’s overall net worth is over $100 000, as of May 2017, acquired largely through his rap music career, making a name for himself in the circles of the East Coast. Since he is still active as a musician, his net worth continues to increase.
Tru Life’s professional career as a rapper started after being signed to Dreamworks Records in 1999, and the release of his first album „Cryin’ Out Loud“ – scheduled for November 2001 but due to certain complications was postponed. Tru eventually managed to land an audition with rapper Jay-Z, convincing him of his rapping skills and so being signed to a six-figure record deal the same evening. He made a notable breakthrough with the release of his single „Wet Em Up“ which he recorded for Grand Theft Auto IV’s fictional radio station „The Beat 102.7“ – the song was later used in the Playboy X trailer. He was previously signed to Def Jam, but persuaded Jay-Z to sign him to his label, Roc La-Familia, a subsidiary of his main label Roc-A-Fella. However, Tru had a conflict with rapper Mobb Deep, which was then documented in the 2003 movie „Beef“.
In the years to come, Tru Life released two successful mixtapes „The New New York: The Movement“ and „Tru York“. However, in 2009 he was charged and sentenced to eight years jail for taking part in a stabbing encounter in New York. Upon his release in 2016, Tru started to actively protest his innocence, stating that he didn’t participate in any crime.
He was then featured on a song with Rick Ross, which was well received by the critics and public, and its video reached more than a million views on YouTube in only a month. Some of the other notable work Tru has released includes singles such as „When You’re a Thug“ – a collaboration with Prodigy & Kool G Rap, „I Can’t Believe“, featuring Swizz Beatz, „Tears“ with Bobby Valentino, „Watch Me Fall“ featuring Snoop Dogg, „I Don’t Need Love“ with Keri Hillson and „Bag For It“ – a collaboration with Rick Ross & Velous, all adding to his reputation and net worth,His more recent activity includes being featured on a few mixtapes, however, without releasing any new singles. Tru has stated that he is currently working on starting his own label and therefore hasn’t planned on signing to a new one. The time he spent in prison seems to have had a great impact on Tru’s life, as he claims he is now a changed man with all the past feuds behind him, ready to look at life from a new angle. However, one of his trade marks is always conciously observing his life and music style, while at the same time refusing to glamourise a criminal lifestyle.
When it comes to his private life, there is very little to no information revealed to the public, not even any rumours concerning relationships.
