To give some background information, Plaxico Burress was educated at Green Run High School and Fork Union Military Academy. Burress played college football for Michigan State University, setting several single game and season records for receptions and touchdowns, before being selected 8th in the first round of the 2000 NFL Draft by the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Burress played 71 games over five seasons for the Steelers, accumulating 261 receptions and 22 touchdowns. After this successful start in the NFL, which certainly gave a solid start to his net worth, Plaxico Burress left the Pittsburgh Steelers and signed a new six-year contract with the New York Giants team, reportedly worth $25 million. It is worth saying that the player was listed as 7th player for touchdowns during the NFL regular season in 2007, with 12.
