Neville O’Riley Livingston Wiki Biography

Neville O’Riley Livingston was born on the 10th April 1947, in Kingston, Jamaica and is a singer and songwriter. Wailer is one of the founding members of the band The Wailers, with Bob Marley and Peter Tosh, in which he sangs, composed for and played percussions. He left the group in 1974, in order to pursue a solo career. Bunny Wailer has been active in the entertainment industry since the 1960s.

How much is the net worth of Bunny Wailer? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the outright size of his wealth is as much as $500,000, as of the data presented in the middle of 2017. Music is the major source of Wailer’s modest fortune.

To begin with, Neville Livingston grew up in a village in the parish of St. Ann where he met Bob Marley, becoming one of his childhood friends. In 1952 their families settled in Kingston, in the neighbourhood of Trenchtown. In was the singer Joe Higgs, who introduced young people to the neighbourhood; subsequently, they met Peter Tosh and Junior Braithwaite.

In 1963 they formed The Juveniles; the group practiced ska and rocksteady musical genres that gave birth to reggae, and was renamed several times before adopting the name The Wailers. They got to be known by the Jamaican public in 1964, with their first hit single “Simmer Down” produced by Coxsone Dodd. Bunny Wailer took part in the recording of the band’s albums, including “Catch a Fire” and “Burnin’” both released in 1973, but he composed less than the other two founding members, and his importance within the group was diminishing.

Bunny Wailer left the Wailers in 1974, soon followed by Peter Tosh, who also launched a solo career. Wailer’s first solo album – “Blackheart Man” – was released in 1976., and the singer, who rarely leaves Jamaica, began his first international tour. Yet, his records sold less than those of Tosh and Marley, making him the most underrated musician of the trio. Nevertheless, his albums “Time Will Tell: A Tribute to Bob Marley” and “Hall of Fame: Tribute to Bob Marley’s 50th Anniversary” received Grammy Awards, in 1990 and 1995 respectively. After the death of Bob Marley in 1981 and Peter Tosh in 1987, Bunny Wailer is the last founding member still alive of The Wailers.

Bunny Wailer was invited as a guest star onto the album “True Love” by Toots and the Maytals , which won the Grammy for the Best Album Reggae in 2004. It should be noted that the aforementioned album includes many notable musicians, including Willie Nelson, Eric Clapton, Bryan Adams, Jackie Jackson and many others. During the 2000s, he performed on stage with Stephen and Ziggy Marley, the son of Bob and Rita Marley.

In 2012, he was awarded the Order of Jamaica, the fourth highest order in the country, for his pioneering contribution to the musical development of Jamaica.

Finally, in the personal life of the singer, Bunny Wailer is single, with no record of him having been married.
