Michael Gregory Rowe Wiki Biography
Michael Gregory Rowe was born on 18 March 1962, in Baltimore, Maryland USA, and is an actor, narrator and television host, best known for working on projects such as “Dirty Jobs” and “Somebody’s Gotta Do it”. He’s also worked with shows such as “Shark Week”, “Deadliest Catch” and “How the Universe Works”, and has been active in the industry since the mid-1980s, with all of his efforts helping to put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Mike Rowe? As of late-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $35 million, earned through success in his numerous endeavors. As he continues his career, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
At a young age, Mike would become very interested in writing and narrating, thanks to his work as an Eagle Scout, during which he did service at the Maryland School of the Blind. He was educated at Overlea High School, and during his time there, also developed an interest in acting, and excelled in singing and performing in theatre. After matriculating, he then attended Essex Community College, and performed for the Chorus of the Chesapeake, before moving to Towson University, later graduating with a degree in communication studies. After completing his studies, he then sang professionally alongside the Baltimore Opera.
Rowe would find work joining WJZ-TV, and hosting the show “Your New Home” for more than a decade. This led to more hosting and radio work which would increase his net worth significantly. He worked for the network QVC, and also hosted the now defunct PrimeStar program “Channel 999”. He also started doing pitching work, becoming a spokesperson for Epic Pharmacy in 1998. In the 2000s, he frequently appeared on television; he hosted the show “Worst Case Scenarios”, which would lead to his hosting the History Channel’s “The Most”. Around this time, he also hosted the “Evening Magazine” which was aired through KPIX-TV”, and would also appear in a news segment entitled “Somebody’s Gotta Do It”, which would later become the concept for the show “Dirty Jobs”.
Mike continued to do narrating work, becoming a staple in various Discovery Channel shows such as “Ghost Lab”, “American Chopper” and “Deadliest Catch”. He also hosted “Shark Week” from 2006 to 2008, so his worth to the channel and his net worth continued to build.
He also did work for other networks, such as Syfy’s “Ghost Hunters”, “The Ultimate Fighter” and “ABC World News with Diane Sawyer”, and made guest appearances in other popular shows such as “Sesame Street” and “American Dad!”, to which he lent his voice too. During this time, he could frequently be seen in commercials for the Ford Motor Company, and would also partner with the industrial supply company, W. W. Grainger.
In 2012, Rowe was the host of the three-part series “How Booze Built America”, and later the host of “Somebody’s Gotta Do It”, which started airing as a part of CNN. He also has a podcast called “The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe”, and is the narrator of “Wicked Tuna”. In 2017, he appeared as a guest in the premiere episode of “This Old House”, so his net worth is still ticking over.
For his personal life, it is known that Mike is in a relationship with actress Danielle Burgio. He resides in San Francisco, California and is very active with trade activism efforts. In 2016, rumors started spreading that he had died, which of course he later denied!
