Michael Francis Sherman was born on the 19th December 1954, in Norwood, Massachusetts USA, and is a former American Football player and a coach. During his career, he has been coaching at all the levels starting with high school, then college and finishing in the National Football League. Sherman has been working as a coach since 1978.

To begin with, the boy was educated at the Algonquin Regional High School in which he was a member of the football team. Sherman was awarded a scholarship to study, and represent the football team, at Central Connecticut State University. There he played in the positions of offensive tackle and defensive end. He earned a Bachelor’s degree in English, then after graduation he went on working as an assistant football coach and English teacher at Stamford High School (1978). From 1979 to 1980, he worked in the same positions at Worcester Academy.
Moreover, Sherman continued his career working as coach Jackie Sherrill’s assistant at the University of Pittsburgh from 1981 to 1982. Even though Mike had a job, life was not that easy as he could not afford to rent a flat, so stayed in a cot at the stadium overnight. From 1983 to 1984, he worked with the offensive line of The Tulane Green Wave football team which represented Tulane University. The following two seasons, he was responsible for the offensive line of The College of the Holy Cross team, then at Texas A&M University, Mike worked with the offensive line players from 1989 to 1993. The following season, he coached the offensive line of UCLA and then got back to Texas A&M for the 1995 – 1996 season, and at the end of 1996, Mike took the position of offensive coordinator.
However, he took a step upwards by resigning to work as a tight end coach for the Green Bay Packers in the National Football League (NFL), then in 1999, Sherman was contracted for 2000, as head coach of the Packers. Where he worked until 2005. Then, he served as an assistant head coach in 2006 and offensive coordinator in 2007 for the Houston Texans. However, he decided to get back to the National Collegiate Athletic Association, and worked as a head coach for Texas A&M team, but for the season of 2012 – 2013, he took the position of offensive coordinator for the Miami Dolphins in the NFL. Since 2015, Sherman has worked as a head coach of Nauset Regional High School which plays in The New England Association of Schools and Colleges, Inc.
Finally, in the personal life of the coach, Sherman married his wife Karen in 1982, and they have five children. Currently, Mike and his wife live in Dennis, Massachusetts on Cape Cod.
