Mathew Kelly Barnes was born on the 9th March 1980 in Santa Clara, California USA. He is best known to the world simply as Matt Barnes, a professional basketball player, who currently plays for the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Over the course of his career, he has played for a number of teams such as Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic, Los Angeles Clippers and others, making it the main source of his net worth. He has been an active basketball player since 2002.

He made a return to the NBA in 2004, signing with the Clippers, but changed between three more teams including the New York Knicks, Philadelphia 76ers and Sacramento Kings, until 2008 when he became a part of the Golden State Warriors.
While being with the Warriors, his game numbers drastically improved, which enabled him to sign a larger contract, and increase his net worth. He played for the Golden State Warriors until the 2009 season, when he signed a one year contract with the Phoenix Suns, which also boosted his net worth.
