Mary Sean Young was born on the 20th November 1959. in Louisville, Kentucky USA, and is an actress, still perhaps best known for her role of Rachel in “Blade Runner” (1982). In the 2010s, she participated in the broadcasts of reality shows like “Skating with the Stars” and “Celebrity Rehab”. Sean Young has been active in the entertainment industry since 1980.

How much is the net worth of Sean Young? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the total size of her wealth is as much as $12.5 million, as of the data presented in the middle of 2016.

To begin with, Sean Young was raised in Louisville, the daughter of Donald Young and Lee Guthrie. She was educated at Cleveland Heights High School. then graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy. She also studied at the School of American Ballet in New York. Prior to starting a career as an actress, she worked as a dancer and model.

The model and ballet dancer, Sean Young made her film debut in 1980 in the film “Jane Austen in Manhattan”. This was followed by “The Stripes” (1981), and especially the film “Blade Runner” (1982) that made her famous. The decades 1980 and 1990 were brilliant for the career of Sean Young, who played important roles in popular films, among which she created the roles of Chani in the “Dune” directed by David Lynch, Kate Gekko in the film “Wall Street” (1987) by Oliver Stone, Ray Finkle in the film “Ace Ventura: Pet Detective” (1994) by Tom Shadyac and others. But she missed great opportunities as the role of Marion Ravenwood “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981), which finally was given to Karen Allen or that of Vicki Vale in “Batman” (1989), played by Kim Basinger, and that of Catwoman in “Batman: The Challenge” (1989), which was landed by Michelle Pfeiffer. Regardless, her net worth rose steadily.

In the 2000s, Sean Young appeared in various independent films, and created roles on television. She spent four months in Russia to create the picture of Isadora Duncan in the film “Esenin”, which was released in 2005. In 2010, she participated in the spin-off of “Dancing with the Stars”, “Skating with the Stars” on the American channel ABC, however, after only a week of participation, she was the first eliminated. In 2011, she participated in the show “Celebrity Rehab”, aimed at combatting the problem of alcoholism as she had undergone similar, self-admitted treatment in 2008, and again in 2011.

Recently, Sean Young has appeared in the main cast of a film based upon the “Star Trek” franchise “Star Trek: Renegades” (2013); the horror western film written and directed by S. Craig Zahler “Bone Tomahawk” (2015); and the psychological horror film written and directed by Mickey Keating “Darling” (2015). Currently, she is working on the set of the upcoming comedy film “Lost Cat Corona” written and directed by Anthony Tarsitano, in which Sean Young landed the lead.

Finally, in the personal life of the actress, from 1990 to 2002 she was married to Robert Lujan, with whom she had two children: Kelly and Rio Quinn Lee. In 2011, she re-married her ex-husband Robert Lujan, following her previously-mentioned period of rehabilitation.

Mary Sean Young Quotes

  • Because of the incredible reputation I have, people find me exciting to watch on film.
  • If somebody says to me, ‘Oh, you’re gonna get married and you’ll never be attracted to anybody else again,’ I’m like, right, sure. It’s just not practical to me on an emotional level. Just because I’m married, I’m not dead.
  • I don’t want to do any more movies where I look at it and go, ‘Oh, God, gross.’
  • I don’t really like doing interviews.
  • I have a lot of supporters.
  • I don’t particularly think marriage is a sane thing.
  • The city of angels? It’s the city of devils. The city of smiling cobras.
  • I’m just into having fun, because I went through some bad years that really depressed me and made me angry.
  • I never hurt anybody in this business, ever.
  • Work is good when people are responsible, and in low-budget movies a lot of the actors don’t want to be there. They’re there to build a resume.
  • If you’re hit with a lawsuit that’s untrue and the reasons you’re hit with it aren’t clear to you, there’s a very big inclination on people’s part to want to take responsibility for it – that this must be happening because I’m a terrible person, I did something, and I’m getting repaid for it.
  • I’ve been forced to deal with my character assassination.
  • You can act as nice as you can 100% of the time, and it will still not make everybody say nice things about you.
  • I’m a comeback waiting to happen. No one deserves it more than I do.
  • There were a lot of rumors spread about me. Of course, I didn’t show up to defend myself, so my absence helped create even more.
  • [on Warren Beatty] I was basically sexually harassed by him. This kind of thing wasn’t news to anybody. What was news was I blew the whistle on it. I talked about it…and boy oh boy! He didn’t like that. There is one rule in Hollywood you don’t break, you don’t tell the truth about people in the press. And I broke that rule, and I paid a very, very big price.
  • [Talking about Harrison Ford during the filming of Blade Runner (1982)] Harry [Ford], he was never happy on that film. The only time he was happy was when they told him it was over.
  • All right, I’m young, I’m beautiful – but you don’t have to hate me.
  • [on wearing a blond wig in Fatal Instinct (1993)] Being a blond makes you very ruthless, insane and self-centered.
  • [on the Bible] It’s a great little book.
