Lisa Loeb & Nine Stories Wiki Biography

Born Lisa Anne Loeb on the 11th March 1968, in Bethesda, Maryland USA, she is a musician, singer and songwriter, and also an actress, perhaps best known to the world for her hit single “Stay (I Missed You)”, which was used for the soundtrack of the film “Reality Bites” (1994). Also, she has released 11 studio albums, as a part of a band and as a solo artist. Her career has been active since 1989.

Have you ever wondered how rich Lisa Loeb is, as of mid- 2016? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Lisa Loeb`s net worth is as high as $10 million, earned through her successful careers in the entertainment industry. Apart from being a singer, she has also tried herself as an actress, appearing in over 20 film and TV titles so far.

Lisa and her family moved to Dallas, Texas where she was raised as Jewish with her three siblings, one of whom is Debbie Loeb – also a singer and actress. Her love for music came from an early age, as she studied piano, and then learned to play guitar. She went to The Hockday School, a private educational institution only for girls. Following her matriculation, Lisa enrolled at the prestigious Brown University, from which she graduated with a degree in comparative literature.

While in University, Lisa`s interest for music reached a whole new level, as she formed a duo, called Liz and Lisa, with Elizabeth Mitchell, and with the addition of Duncan Sheik as guitarist. They released an album entitled “Liz And Lisa” in 1989, and a year later “Liz And Lisa- Days Were Different”. However, following their graduation, Elizabeth left the group, and soon Rick Lassiter and Chad Fisher joined the band, but she then started a band called Nine Stories, with Tim Bright, Joe Quigley and Jonathan Feinberg. Lisa`s next album came out in 1992, entitled “Purple Tape”, as a cassette only, sold to fans at concerts. In 1994 came her big break, as Lisa`s song called “Stay (I Missed You)” was used as soundtrack for the film “Reality Bites”, and became a hit, topping the US Hot 100 chart, and was No. 1 in Canada. A year later, her first major album was released, called “Tails”, which achieved gold status in the USA, and platinum in Canada, which only increased her net worth. She continued successfully in the 1990s, releasing another album called “Firecracker”, which also achieved gold status in the USA, and was also gold certified in Canada.

After that, her popularity with fans began to decline, and albums “Cake and Pie” (2002), “The Way It Really Is? (2004), and “No Fairy Tale” (2013) didn`t even made the charts, however, still received positive critiques from music magazines.

Lisa has also released three albums with children songs, “Catch The Moon” (2003), “Lisa Loeb’s Silly Sing-Along: The Disappointing Pancake and Other Zany Songs” (2011), and most recently “Nursery Rhyme Parade!” (2015), the sales of which also increased her net worth.

Lisa`s net worth has also risen through her acting talents; she made her debut appearance in “Black Circle Boys” in 1997, and since then has appeared in over 20 film and TV titles, and also lent her voice to characters from animated shows. By the end of the 1990s, she had featured in TV series “The Nanny” (1997), “Cupid” (1998), and “House On Haunted Hill” (1999). In 2003 she voiced the character of Mary Jane Watson in “Spider-Man”, and in 2004 she portrayed Sasha Fitzgerald in “Serial Killing 4 Dummys”. Her next big role was the one of Victoria in the film “Fright Night” (2011), with Anton Yelchin and Collin Farrell in lead roles. The same year she was selected to voice Princess Winger in the animated TV series “Jake And The Never Land Pirates” (2011-2014), and most recently she appeared in the film “Helicopter Mom” (2014), with Mark Boone Junior and Nia Vardalos.

Lisa has also started a business career, branding a coffee called “Wake Up! Brew”, and she has her own glasses collection, called “Lisa Loeb Eyewear Collection”.

Regarding her personal life, Lisa has been married to Roey Hershkovitz since 2009; the couple has two children. Previously, she was in a relationship with Dweezil Zappa from 1998 until 2004.
