Leati Joseph Anoa’i Wiki Biography
Leati Joseph Anoa’i, born on the 25th of May 1985, is an American professional wrestler who became known under the name Roman Reigns. He became famous in the world of wrestling by being part of the trio ‘The Shield’, and for winning the WWE World Heavyweight Championship three times.
So how much is Reigns’ net worth? As of late 2017, based on authoritative sources it is reported to be $180,000, acquired from his years as professional wrestler which actually began in 2010.
Born in Penascola, Florida, Reigns is the son of Lisa and Leati ‘Sika’ Anoa’i. His father was a famed former American Samoan professional wrestler, thus he was introduced into the sport at an early age. His brother Rosey was also a professional wrestler.
Despite being groomed as a wrestler even at an early age, Reigns also had a passion for American Football. He played one year for the Penascola Catholic High School, then transferred to Escambia High School where he played for three years, even winning the Defensive Player of the Year by the Penascola News Journal. After matriculating, he was accepted into the Georia Institute of Technology, where he became a member of the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets Football Team.
In 2007, although undrafted Reigns’ career as a football player began when subsequently signed with the Minnesota Vikings, but was soon released, similarly with the Jacksonville Jaguars, so the following year he joined the Edmonton Eskimos of the Canadian Football League. However, he retired from playing football after one season, having decided to focus on wrestling. Despite his short time as a football player, it still helped in his career and also started his net worth.
After seeking advice from his brother, who by then was already a professional wrestler, in 2010 Reigns signed a developmental deal with the World Wrestling Association, WWE. His early years included joining the Developmental Territory Florida Championship Wrestling, starting his career in wrestling known as Roman Leakee, and his early years also helped boost his income.
Although he was already achieving minor success as a wrestler, even winning a Florida Tag Team Championship while he was with the Florida Championship Wrestling, it was in 2012 that Reigns started gaining popularity, when he became part of the trio “The Shield.” Together with his former opponents Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins, the three became a popular tag team – Reigns and Rollings even won the WWE Tag Team Championship titles when they defeated Team Hello No. The three spilt up in 2014, but their popularity still helped catapult them to fame and also significantly increased their wealth.
Reigns continued wrestling as a solo act, and went on to win three WWE World Heavyweight Championships, and a US Championship in 2016. Today, he is still active in the world of wrestling and even had a reunion with “The Shield” in late 2017.
Aside from his successful wrestling career, Reigns has also contributed to his net worth by appearing in various video games, including “WWE2k14”, “WWE2k15”, “WWE2k16”, “WWE2k17”, and “WWE2k18.”
In terms of his personal life, Reigns has been married to Galina Becker since 2014, and together they have a daughter named Joelle.
