Lawrence Thom Wiki Biography
Born Lawrence Thom on the 12th October 1959 in Seattle, Washington USA, Larry is a DJ, music producer, songwriter, and club promoter, best known to the world for launching career of drag artists RuPaul, Scissor Sisters, and Peaches, among others, while he is also known for collaborating with a number of musicians, such as Princess Superstar, Steve Aoki and others.
Have you ever wondered how rich Larry Tee is, as of late 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Tee’s net worth is as high as $16 million, earned largely through his successful career in the music industry, active since the late ‘80s.
Of Canadian ancestry since both his parents were Canadians, Larry spent his childhood in Marietta, Georgia, but there is no information about his formative years and education. In the early ‘80s he moved to Atlanta, aspiring to become a musician, where he started incorporating himself into the music scene by hanging out with Michael Stipe of R.E.M., then RuPaul, Lahoma Van Zandt, and Lady Bunny, among others. In the mid- ‘80s, Larry with Lady Bunny and RuPaul moved to New York City, and sought a chance in Club Kids scene. In order to be heard, Larry started the party Love Machine, befriended Michael Alig, started hosting the DISCO 2000, and was a part of the ROXY on a weekly basis, as a DJ.
It was in the ‘90s that Larry became a prominent figure in the electronic music scene, mostly thanks to his constant live performances, and made his way to such high profile events as Palladium, Twilo, and the ROXY. Also during the ‘90s, he worked with RuPaul on the hit “Supermodel (You Better Work), then cemented his popularity in the early 2000s, when he invented the term “electroclash” and managed to trademark it, and which became a musical genre and a festival, which featured Scissor Sisters, Peaches, and Fischerspooner, among others.
Continuing on, Larry collaborated with Andy Bell on the song “Matthew”, a tribute to Matthew Shepard, who tragically lost his life in the late ‘90s for being gay, and released the dance album “Club Badd”, which featured songs from such artists as Princess Superstar, Jeffree Star, Herve, Perez Hilton, and many others, the sales of which considerably increased his net worth. A year later, Larry released the song “Let’s Make Nasty”, as a duet with Roxy Cottontail.
In 2011 he left the USA and settled in Shoreditch, London; his popularity followed him to Europe, and he quickly landed the gig Super Electric Party Machine, held at East Bloc every Friday Night, and XOYO, plus helping artists such as Brooke Candy, Charli XCX, Ssion and others. After four years in London, Larry moved to Berlin, Germany, where he continued his musical career, and also launched the clothing line TZUJI, subsequently worn by Rihanna, Sean Kingston, Missy Elliott and others, and available for purchase at stores in London, Los Angeles, Berlin and New York, which has increased his net worth to a large degree.
Regarding his personal life, Larry tends to keep his most intimate details hidden from the public eye, therefore, no reliable information is available about Larry in the media.
