Labrinth Wiki Biography
Born as Timothy Lee McKenzie on the 4th January 1989 in Hackney, London England, but best known to the world under his stage name Labrinth, he is a musician, producer, singer, and guitarist, who came to prominence with his debut solo album “Electronic Earth” (2012), and singles such as “Beneath Your Beautiful”, a collaboration with Emeli Sandé, and “Let the Sun Shine”, among other accomplishments.
Have you ever wondered how rich Labrinth is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Labrinth’s net worth is as high as $2 million, an amount earned through his successful career in the music industry, which has been active since 2009.
Of a family from St Kitts and Nevis, Timothy is one of nine children born into musical family. From an early age he was inspired by music, and grew up listening to American gospel. His first steps towards music came in the way of the band Mac 9, comprised of him and his siblings, and later with his brother Mac he started working as a producer. He went to Stoke Newington School, and slowly became more profound in making music, which led to a collaboration with Master Shortie, an MC on the song “Dead End”, which can be found on Shortie’s 2009 album “A.D.H.D”. The success of his early works as a producer brought him the interest of EMI Music Publishing and Guy Moot, and he soon received a contract offer from the record label. Then he was a mentor of the Urban Development Vocal Collective, in which position he was joined by his sister ShezAr, while he also served as their producer.
He then worked with rapper Tinie Tempah and two collaborated on her debut single “Pass Out”, which topped the UK Singles Chart and achieved platinum status in the UK. The two continued to work together on Tempah’s singles such as “Frisky” (2010), and “Lover Not a Fighter” (2013), all of which became successful, increasing Labrinth’s net worth.
Aside from Tinie Tempah, at the time of his career beginnings, Labrinth also worked with Porfessor Green, Loick Essien, and Ola Svensson, and thanks to these early successes, Labrinth received a contract offer from Simon Cowell, and was signed to the Syco record label. His debut single came in 2010, entitled “Let the Sun Shine” and peaked at the No. 3 in the UK. The following year he started working on his debut solo album, which eventually came out in 2012, entitled “Electronic Earth”, reaching No. 2 on the UK Charts and achieving gold status, increasing Labrinth’s net worth to a large degree. From 2013 onwards, Labrinth began working on his second solo album, with the title “Take Me to the Truth”. A couple of singles have so far been released, including “Let It Be”, and “Jealous”, but there is no info when the second album of this musician will become available for purchase.
As his popularity increased, Labrinth started working with other notable musicians, including Emeli Sandé, then Mike Posner, The Weekend, and Sia, among many others, which also added to his wealth.
Regarding his personal life, Labrinth has been engaged to Muz since 2015, proposing to his long-time girlfriend during his performance at Hylands Park, Chelmsford.
