Katt Williams Wiki Biography
American stand-up comedian, actor, rap artist, as well as a screenwriter Micah Katt Williams, was born on 2 September 1973, in Cincinnati, Ohio, and is probably best known as Money Mike, a fictional character from the 2002 comedy film directed by Marcus Raboy entitled “Friday After Next”, which is the third film in the “Friday” series the first of which aired in 1995.
So just how rich is Katt Williams, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, Katt Williams’ net worth is estimated to be over $10 million, gathered largely from his many on-screen appearances during a career now spanning well over 20 years.
Williams left home in his early teens, and supported himself as a street vendor in Florida, but actually started his career as a stand-up comedian in Cincinnati. Prior to making his film debut, Katt Williams had already established himself as a comedian, and performed stand-up comedy at such popular clubs as “The Improv”, “The Comedy Club”, and “The Icehouse”. He also released three of his comedy specials, entitled “Katt Williams: Live: Let a Playa Play”, “It’s Pimpin’ Pimpin” and thirdly “Kattpacalypse”. However, Katt Williams’ career had always been rather controversial, and some of his live performances were overshadowed by Williams’ confrontational behavior towards hecklers in the audience, and he even faced jail time after assaulting a young man on his tour bus.
Money Mike was perhaps his savior, although the second “Friday After Next” which came out in 2002, was not very successful commercially, collecting only $33 million at the box office, but certainly gained Katt considerable publicity. Another role that Williams is known for is that of Bobby Shaw, a recurring character in the sitcom created by Damon Wayans called “My Wife and Kids”, which debuted in 2001 and was on air for five seasons. In addition to the main cast, such celebrities as Shaquille O’Neal, Michael Jordan, Terry Crews, LeBron James, Flavor Flav and others were guest stars on the show.
In 2002, Katt Williams debuted as an actor as opposed to a stand-up comedian in an episode of police drama series “NYPD Blue”, and then went on to gain public acceptance by performing in the improv and sketch show “Wild ‘n Out”. Williams has also appeared in such films as “American Hustle: The Movie” with Snoop Dogg, Ludacris, Da Brat and Jeremy Piven, “Epic Movie”, “Lonely Street”, “The Perfect Holiday”, and “Scary Movie 5”.
In addition to being a comedian and actor, Katt Williams is also a popular rapper. Known by the alias of “Money Mike”, Katt Williams has collaborated on songs with such artists as The Game and Baby Bash, and was even an unofficial member of the hip hop group co-created by Cam’ron and Juelz Santana called “The Diplomats”.
Controversy has followed Katt, usually in the form of what might be described as misdemeanors and a public nuisance, sometimes involving minor violence, but in 2012 his four children were taken into protective custody. His spouse since 2010 has been Eboni Gray, but he has eight children from several partners.
