Rex Smith Wiki Biography

Rex Smith was born on the 19th September 1955, in Jacksonville, Florida USA, and is a stage, television and film actor, and musician, best known to the world as Jesse Mach in the TV series “Street Hawk” (1985), and as Matt Murdock/Daredevil in the film “The Trial of the Incredible Hulk” (1989), among many other differing appearances.

Have you ever wondered how rich Rex Smith is, as of mid- 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Smith’s net worth is as high as $750,000, an amount earned through his successful career in the entertainment industry, which has been active since the early ‘70s, becoming a teen idol early in his career.

Rex was born last in the family of four sons; little is known about his growing up and education, and until his career had hit it off, information about Rex remains hidden.

Before he had set his sight on acting, Rex was interested in music and had moderate success with his bands, Phaedra, and Rex, with the latter one he released an album in 1976, entitled “Rex”.

He made his screen debut as the male lead in the romantic drama “Sooner or Later” (1979), next to Denise Miller, and Barbara Feldon, for which he also recorded a soundtrack, with such songs as “You Take My Breath Away”, and “Ain’t That Peculiar”, becoming extremely popular songs. The following year he played Frederic in the television film “The Pirates of Penzance”, then in the 1981 stage play through late 1982, and 1983 in the film “The Pirates of Penzance”, which only increased his wealth and popularity to a large degree. Two years later, Rex was chosen for one of his most prominent roles, as Jesse Mach in the TV action crime series “Street Hawk”, further increasing his wealth.

Since then, Rex hasn’t had much success as a screen actor, though he remains active until the present day. He secured numerous roles in both television and film, but none of them have brought him fame or fortune.

Instead, he has pursued a career on stage, and had several successful appearances, including in “Anything Goes”(1988-89) as Billy Crocker, then in “Grease” (1994-1995) as Danny Zuko, and Joe Gillis in “Sunset Boulevard” (1995-1997), “Annie Get Your Gun” (2000), and “Kiss Me, Kate” (2001-2002), all of which added a considerable amount to his wealth.

Regarding his personal life, Rex has been married to his fourth wife, Tracy Lin since 2009. His first wife was Lois, and he then married Jamie Buell in 1987, with whom he had two children, before divorcing in 1995. Three years later he married his third wife, Courtney Schrag with whom he also had two children.

Furthermore, Rex has a son with Karen Lakey, who is a record-company representative. His son was born in 1980, but it wasn’t until the late ’90s, that Rex was aware of his existence; the two met during one of Rex’s autograph signings.
