Jamie Chung Wiki Biography
Jamie Jilynn Chung is an actress, ex- reality television personality and blogger, born on 10th April 1983 in San Francisco, California USA, probably best known as a member of “The Real World: San Diego” reality series, and for appearing on its later spin-off show “Real World/Road Rules Challenge: The Inferno II”. She has recurrently appeared in the role of Mulan in the TV series “Once Upon a Time” since 2012.
Have you ever wondered how rich Jamie Chung is? According to sources, it has been estimated that Jamie Chung’s overall net worth is $5 million, as of mid-2016. Chung has accumulated her wealth primarily as a reality television star, and later by building a successful acting career. Since she is still an active member of the entertainment industry, her net worth continues to grow.
Jamie was raised in a traditional Korean family, who moved to the United States in 1980. She went to Lowell High School and later attended the University of California, Riverside, graduating with a BA in economics; during her studies, she was a member of Kappa Kappa Gamma sorority. Chung first appeared on television in the fourteenth season of MTV’s reality show “The Real World”, in which she was described as “…a hard-working student who worked two jobs but also enjoyed partying…” Later, she appeared in “Real World/Road Rules Challenge”, a spin-off game show in its 2005 season “The Inferno II”. She managed to remain on the show even after several members had been eliminated, and won the competition with her team.
After her participation in these shows, Chung began her acting career by appearing in numerous minor roles, including as Cordy Han in “Days of Our Lives”, and Hooter’s girl in “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry” (2007). At this time, Jamie also had cameo roles in episodes of “CSI:NY” and “Veronica Mars”. They were a modest start to her net worth.
Chung’s first bigger role came in 2008, as the lead in the ABC Family mini-series “Samurai Girl”. In the following years, Chung had supporting roles in films such as “Sorority Row”, “Dragonball Evolution, “Burning Palms”, “Grown Ups” and “Princess Protection Program” in which she starred next to Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez. However, her debut role on the big screen was in the David Koepp-directed “Premium Rush”(2012). The same year, she portrayed the lead role in “Eden”, and two years later she co-starred in “Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” (2014). All added to her growing net worth.
Jamie also served as a voice actor for characters in the video game “X-Men: Destiny”, and the animated Disney film “Big Hero 6”. When it comes to her more recent activity, Chung co-starred with her husband-to-be Bryan Greenberg, in “Already Tomorrow in Hong Kong”(2015) and has been portraying the character of Mulan in “Once Upon a Time” TV series since 2012.
Apart from her acting career, Jamie is a devoted fashion industry fan, and runs her blog “What the Chung” in which she shares her experiences, and gives advice related to fashion topics.
When it comes to her private life, Chung has been married to actor/musician Bryan Greenberg since October 2015. Jamie currently resides in Manhattan.

Jamie Chung Quotes
- If acting doesn’t work out, I plan to do food photography and just eat my way through the entire world. I’m a big foodie, and if I could make some career out of it, that would be fantastic.
- There are these creative shows, all on cable, that are just so daring and out there. That’s the stuff I really want to be a part of, like with ‘Sucker Punch’ and ‘Hangover 2.’ Those movies didn’t hold back. They really went for it.
- I didn’t want to be known as the reality-show star trying to be an actress, so I kept a lot of the failed auditions to myself.
- I love photography, I love food, and I love traveling, and to put those three things together would just be the ultimate dream.
- I view my career like a rubber-band ball in that every role is a new experience building toward something bigger.
- The casting directors that were aware of ‘The Real World’ looked at me as a joke. It was so hard to get away from that.
- To be honest with you, I’m more of a girl’s girl. I’m much more comfortable being around other girls.
