In addition to being a regular in films and on TV, Killam has also worked as a stand-up comedian, and wrote a six-issue comic book “The Illegitimates” in 2013, which improved his wealth.

Taran Hourie Killam grew up in Big Bear Lake, California and went to the Los Angeles County High School for the Arts before studying at the University of California, Los Angeles, but he dropped out after one year, in 2000. Killam got his film debut in Peter Segal’s comedy “Naked Gun 33 1/3: The Final Insult” (1994) starring Leslie Nielsen. He later appeared in 15 episodes of the live-action, comedy sketch-variety show called “All That” (1994-2002).

Killam waited several years before getting an opportunity to appear in series such as “Undressed” (1999), “The Jersey” (2000), “Judging Amy” (2000), “Touched by an Angel” (2000), and “Roswell” (2001), and then played in 13 episodes of “MADtv” (2001-2002). Later, Killam had roles in “Big Fat Liar” (2002) starring Frankie Muniz, Amanda Bynes, and Paul Giamatti, “Just Married” (2002) with Ashton Kutcher and Brittany Murphy, and Savage Steve Holland’s “Stuck in the Suburbs” (2004). Taran Hourie Killam Quotes

  • [re his audition with Lorne Michaels for ‘SNL’] I said: ‘I don’t want to be so presumptuous to say I’ll come on your show and I’ll kill. But I definitely think if you hired me, I’d do a very good job’. He said: ‘No, no, no, no. Confidence isn’t your problem.’ And he just left it at that. But all I could think is: ‘Wait, what is my problem? Tell me what my problem is, I’ll fix it!’
