Jalen Anthony Rose was born on 30th January, 1973 in Detroit, Michigan, USA. He is a retired professional basketball player (NBA), in the positions of small forward and guard from 1994 to 2007. Currently, Jalen Rose works as a Spokesperson and Ambassador for the National Basketball Retired Players Association, and is involved on ESPN channel, working as a basketball analyst.

Jalen Rose followed his estranged father, Jimmy Walker, who was a successful basketball player in the NBA. In 1994, Jalen was picked 13th overall in the first round of the NBA draft (1994) by the Denver Nuggets, for whom he played for two seasons (1994 – 1996) before being traded to the Indiana Pacers (1996 – 2002) team. Afterwards, he played for the Chicago Bulls (2002 – 2004), the Toronto Raptors (2004 – 2006), the New York Knicks (2006) and ended his professional career playing for the Phoenix Suns (2006 – 2007). During the peak of his career (2000 – 2002) he managed to play entire games, approximately 40.9 minutes per game, averaging more than 20 points per game. The total career statistics say that he managed to make 14.3 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.

Jalen Rose, together with the team members he played with has been named Consensus second-team All-American in 1994 and NBA All-Rookie Second Team in 1995. Furthermore, Jalen Rose has been chosen to serve as the Ambassador and Spokesperson for the National Basketball Retired Players Association, in which position he has served since August 2014.

Finally, Rose is known as a community activist and philanthropist. He has donated money to build reading centres and public schools.
