Alicia Sacramone Wiki Biography

Alicia Marie Sacramone was born on 3 December 1987, in Boston, Massachusetts USA, and is a retired gymnast, best known to have won a silver medal with the United States team during the 2008 Summer Olympics, having also become the second-most decorated American gymnast in World Championship history. All of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.

How rich is Alicia Sacramone? As of early-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $8 million, mostly earned through a successful career in gymnastics. She has won 10 World Championship medals over the course of her career, and all of these achievements have ensured the position of her wealth.

At the age of five, Alicia was already studying dancing, and three years later, she started to train in gymnastics. She became a part of the club Gymnastics and More, training with Mihai and Silvia Brestyan. The two would become her coach and she would follow them when they opened a facility in Ashland, Massachusetts. In 2002, she started competing at an elite level, leading her to make the national team the following year.

She joined the 2003 National Championships and got a bronze medal on floor exercise. She also participated in her first international competition later that year. In 2004, Sacramone would help the US win a team gold medal at the Pacific Alliance Championships, and at which she won the individual vault title. She was predicted to join the American team in the 2004 Olympics, however a poor performance at the 2004 US Nationals stopped her in her tracks. She continued to compete in various tournaments throughout the year, including the Pan American Individual Event Championships, and took first place in vault during the World Cup Finals which helped build her net worth. In the 2005 National Championships, she would win the floor and vault individual titles which led her to be named to the American team, and she won the gold medal on floor during the 2005 World Championships. She continued to be part of the US team the following year, helping them win a silver medal. She then attended Brown University, and became part of the school’s gymnastics team. She broke the school’s records, and including winning the Ivy League Classic.

In 2007, she qualified once again at the World Championships, and would help the US secure the gold medal; she received a bronze medal in vault and silver on floor during the event finals. She forfeited her NCAA eligibility when she turned professional, and would focus on preparations for the 2008 Olympics, but still continued to work for the Brown gymnastics team as a volunteer assistant coach while continuing her studies. Her training led her to be selected for the US team for Beijing – some media blamed Alicia for the US silver medal placing at the Olympics, though she was defended by her teammates as well as other media personnel.

She announced her retirement after the Olympics, but then returned in 2009, however, a shoulder injury delayed her return for a year, when she would become part of the 2010 CoverGirl Classic. She placed first on both beam and vault before returning to the National Championships, gaining first on vault again. At the World Championships, she won a gold medal on the vault and a silver medal in team competition.

In 2011, she secured a sponsorship deal with Under Armour which increased her net worth further. She won gold on the beam and vault during the 2011 CoverGirl Classic. At the National Championships, she won the balance beam title, and would then appear in the World Championships once again. However, during training she would injure her Achilles tendon. Despite that, she was still retained in the team, gaining another gold medal. In 2012, after competing at the Visa National Championships, she announced her retirement.

For her personal life, it is known that Alicia married NFL quarterback Brady Quinn in 2014, and they have a daughter together.
