Jake Lloyd Wiki Biography

Jake Matthew Lloyd was born on 5th March 5 1989, in Fort Collins, Colorado USA. His mother is an entertainment agent and his father is an emergency medical technician. Jake became famous as a child actor, but he decided to leave acting when he was a teenager. The role which made him famous was young Anakin Skywalker, in the film “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace”. He is now an entrepreneur.

So just how rich is Jake Lloyd? Sources estimate Jake’s net worth is over $4 million, money made mostly during his childhood acting career; he had several roles in films before appearing in “Star Wars”.

Jake Lloyd started his acting career in 1996, by playing the role of Jimmy Sweet in “ER”, a medical television series. In the same year, after his appearance in four episodes of the series, the young actor played Jake Warren in “Unhook the Stars”, a drama film. He became known after his role in “Jingle All The Way”, a Christmas comedy, in which Jack played Jamie Langston, the 9-year-old son of Howard Langston (Arnold Schwarzenegger). Jake Lloyd also appeared in the film “Apollo 11”, in the role of Mark Armstrong, and in “The Pretender”, where he played young Angelo.

In 1999, Jake Lloyd was chosen to play young Anakin Skywalker, in the film “Star Wars: The Phantom Menace”, which was the first film of the series “Star Wars”. After this role, Jake appeared in five related video games and made another film, “Madison”, shot in 2000, but released only in 2005. 2 years after “The Phantom Menace”, in 2001, Jake decided to quit his career. He declared that the role of Anakin Skywalker has ruined his childhood. He added that he had to deal with bullying from his classmates and to handle about 60 interviews a day after his appearance in “Star Wars”. Jake eventually graduated from Carmel High School in Indiana, and then went to Columbia College Chicago. The actor wanted to study film and psychology, but he quit after the first semester.

He continued though to go to sci-fi festivals. As a filmmaker, Jake Lloyd made a promo for “Star Wars: Episode II – Attack of the Clones”. In the same period, in 2012, Entertainment Weekly magazine wrote that Jake was directing a documentary about Tibet and the refugees running from the Chinese, to India.

In 2015, Jake comes back in the spotlight, after he was arrested for driving without a license, reckless driving, and resisting arrest. His mother excused the episode by blaming schizophrenia and the fact that the actor hadn’t taken his medication a day before. She also mentioned her son attacking her the night before the incident for similar reasons. His mother declared for Daily Mail that when he was 19, Jake Lloyd started showing signs of schizophrenia, but he was normally fine, as he was treating his condition. Jake Lloyd tried unsuccessfully to go by the name of Jake Broadbent during this episode, in order to keep the media away.
