George Michaud Wiki Biography
George Michaud was born in the USA, and is a survival expert, trapper, and reality television personality, best known through being part of the History channel series entitled “Mountain Men”. He was part of the show during its second season, but all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.
How rich is George Michaud? As of late-2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $100,000, earned through success in his various endeavors. He’s also found success selling authentic Mountain Man products, and is one of the most recognized faces of the show. As he continues his endeavors, it is expected that his wealth will also continue to increase.
Growing up, George was already very interested in survival as it was sparked by his mother, who taught him how to look for water, and how to find his way home if he ever got lost. At the age of 13 he started trapping, and this would set his career path. Prior to joining “Mountain Men”, George was already well known for his trapping skills. He was a full-time trapper with a pack of dogs to help set his traps, and also focused on old methods for tanning hides. He attended Idaho State University, and after graduating focused on building a career involving trapping. He participated in various projects such as Ron Hood’s “Woodmaster” DVD entitled “Sticks, Stoves, and Stitches”, on which he taught skills such as how to make moccasins. In 2010, he also started further teaching work, sharing his skills with others.
Michaud resides in Idaho, and during winter focuses on trapping. He tans the hides of the animals he trapped during the summer; some of the animals he’s trapped include deer, beavers, and antelopes. Then during the spring season, he focuses on teaching work. All of these activities have helped increase his net worth. He sells his furs at auctions, and teaches many ways of trapping, and has also been credited with rediscovering the “promontory peg”, which is a trigger device for deadfalls.
Eventually, he would be cast in the series “Mountain Men” which would also steadily increase his net worth. The show follows several mountain men as they live off the land in remote places around the US. George is shown camping along the Snake River, and in the Teton Range in Idaho, which are two of the largest wilderness locations in the area, building his own traditional tepee which is his own design. His run with the show was aired in 2013, with him appearing in the second season which ran for a total of 16 episodes. After the show finished production, he would return to his regular trapping and teaching schedule.
For his personal life, it is known that several of Michaud’s relatives are also trappers. He also has social media, mainly a LinkedIn profile to allow him to connect to others interested in his skills. Nothing is known of any romantic relationships.
