Frank Marshall Wiki Biography

Frank Wilton Marshal was born on the 13th September 1946, in Glendale, California USA, and is an Oscar Award-nominated producer, best known to the world for being the producer of films such as the “Indiana Jones” franchise, “Back to the Future” (1985) and “The Sixth Sense” (1999), among others.

Have you ever wondered how rich Frank Marshall is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Marshall’s net worth is as high as $150 million, earned through his successful career in the entertainment industry. He also serves as CEO of the Kennedy/Marshal film production company.

Born to musician, conductor and composer Jack Marshall, Frank spent his childhood years in Van Nuys, California, before his family moved to Newport Beach, where he went to Newport Harbor High School, and during which he was active in music, cross country, drama and track. After matriculation he enrolled at the University of California, Los Angeles, and earned a degree in Political science. While in college he started playing soccer and was the one of those responsible for creating the first NCAA soccer team.

While in college he met and befriended director Peter Bogdanovich, and the two developed a friendship which transferred to business. In 1968, Peter directed the film “Targers”, and Frank offered himself as a volunteer. Frank assumed various productions roles, but until the ‘70s didn’t return to film, instead spending two years in Aspen and Marina del Rey working as a waiter and playing guitar at local restaurants and bars. In 1970 Bogdanovich called Frank again, and he appeared in his film “The Last Picture Show” (1971), then spent the early ‘70s learning from Bogdanovich and working on his films as producer, including “Directed by John Ford” (1971), “Paper Moon” (1973), “Daisy Miller” (1974), “At Long Last Love” (1975), “Nickelodeon” (1976), and then in 1978 working with Martin Scorsese on “The Last Waltz”. Little by little Frank’s name became known in the Hollywood area, and with Kathleen Kennedy, who would become his wife, and renowned director Steven Spielberg started the production company called Amblin Entertainment.

Since then, Frank has collaborated with Spielberg on numerous films, including the “Raiders of the Lost Ark” (1981) and the entire “Indiana Jones” franchise, then “Poltergeist” (1982), “The Color Purple” (1985), the “Back to the Future” franchise, “Jurassic Park” and “The BFG” (2016), among others. Also, with his wife he has established Kennedy/Marshall production company, which has produced a number of successful films also improving his wealth, such as “Congo” (1995), “The Indian in the Cupboard” (1995), “The Bourne Identity” (2002) and other Jason Bourne sequels, “Munich” (2005), “Persepolis” (2007), “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” (2008), “Crossing Over” (2009), “Lincoln” (2012), and “Assassin’s Creed” (2016), among many others. His net worth is still rising.

Regarding his personal life, Frank has been married to Kathleen Kennedy since 1987; the couple has two children.
