The following year he won fourth place at the Junior Olympics, while in 1999 he won the Novice title at the US Championship. Later in 1999 he began competing in the ISU Junior Grand Prix circuit, and during the next several years of his junior career, Evan Lysacek won several medals including four silver and three gold Junior Grand Prix medals, as well as the 2004 World Junior Championship’s silver medal. In 2004, 19-year old Evan debuted as a senior at the 2004 Skate America where he finished fifth. However, in the 2005 US Championships he won the bronze medal, which was immediately followed by winning his first international senior title – the 2005 Four Continents Figure Skating Championship.
