Born Desmond Darice Clark on the 20th April 1977, in Bartow, Florida USA, he is a retired professional American Football player, who spent 12 seasons in the National Football League (NFL), playing as a tight end for the Denver Broncos (1999-2001), Miami Dolphins (2002), and Chicago Bears (2003-2010).

Desmond went to Kathleen High School, located in Lakeland, Florida and while there he started playing football, and also baseball and basketball. He had a successful high school football career as he played several positions, including quarterback, free safety, and was also a return specialist. He then signed a contract with the Miami Dolphins and played in 11 games, before he became a part of the Chicago Bears in 2003, for which he played until the end of his career in 2010. Slowly his numbers began to improve, and in 2005 he was made Pro-Bowl alternate, while in 2006 he helped his team to reach the Super Bowl, with 626 receiving yards and 6 touchdowns, although losing to the Indianapolis Colts. Unfortunately, from 2008 onwards, his role in the Bears’ offense began to decline with the arrival of offensive coordinator Mike Martz.
