Dennis Rodman Wiki Biography

Dennis Keith Rodman was born on 13 May 1961, in Trenton, New Jersey USA, and is a former  basketball player and athlete, basketball coach, as well as an actor. During his basketball career, Dennis Rodman had an opportunity to play for some of the best teams in NBA, including the Chicago “Bulls”, Los Angeles “Lakers”, Detroit “Pistons” and San Antonio “Spurs”. Often referred to as “The Worm”, throughout his career Dennis Rodman became known for his rebounding, as well as overall defensive skills. Rodman’s list of achievements in basketball includes the NBA Championship title that teams he was playing for won five times, NBA Defensive Player of the Year, as well the NBA Rebounding Champion title, which he won for six consecutive years from 1992 to 1998.

A famous basketball player and sometime wrestler, how rich is Dennis Rodman? In regards to his total wealth, Dennis Rodman’s current net worth is estimated by sources to be $1 million. Some figures include the $1 million salary Rodman received in 1998, for playing for the Los Angeles “Lakers”, while in 2004 he won $222,000 for competing in a reality series “Game Mole”. Rodman’s net worth has decreased significantly, apparently through financial problems associated with child support that he owes to his ex-wife.

Dennis Rodman  but spent most of his childhood in Dallas, Texas, where he studied at South Oak Cliff High School, and was part of the basketball team; however, he was forced to spend the majority of time on the bench as he was not very physically fit. It was in Cooke County College where Rodman started showing signs of becoming a promising basketball player, and following successful performances in college, Rodman was able to enter the 1986 NBA Draft, where he was chosen as the 27th pick by the Detroit “Pistons”. With the “Pistons”, Rodman reached his first NBA Playoffs, and even though they did not win, it was a great learning experience. After seven years spent with “Pistons”, during which the team won the NBA Championship in 1989 and 1990, he was then traded to the San Antonio “Spurs” with whom he played two seasons, before joining the Chicago “Bulls” team for three seasons, winning the NBA Championship in all three. He then spent one season with each of the LA Lakers and Dallas Mavericks before retiring at the end of the 1999-2000 season.

Overall, Rodman played almost 1100 games; he was successively a ‘small forward’, ‘power forward’, but was then selected seven times in the NBA All-Defensive Team, and is identified as one of the all-time best rebounding forwards in the NBA.

As a basketball player, Dennis Rodman became known not only for his athletic abilities and outrageous hairstyles, but for his constant issues with other players, and with referees, for which he was suspended from a total of 16 games during the 1996-97 season. Then Rodman decided to pursue his dream of becoming a wrestler, and that same year appeared alongside Hulk Hogan in the World Wrestling Championship event. He was later included as a member of “nWo” group, which means “The New World Order”, with Hogan, Kevin Nash and Scott Hall. Rodman had his first match in 1997, where he teamed up with Hogan against “The Giant” and Lex Luger. Rodman made several other appearances in the ring, but retired from professional wrestling at the peak of his career.

After his retirement from NBA, Dennis Rodman focused on his on screen appearances and starred in such projects as hosting “The Rodman World Tour”, and appearing in “Double Team” and “3rd Rock from the Sun”. In more recent years he has taken part in reality shows such as “Celebrity Big Brother” and ” Love Island” on UK TV, and “Celebrity Apprentice”, all with moderate success, but which no doubt helped him pay the bills accumulated through a series of misdemeanours; these included domestic violence charges and frequent loud parties disturbing his neighbours, sometimes fueled by alcohol. Further, visits to North Korea and an apparent friendship with Kim Jong-un did not endear him to the American public.

In his less-than-private personal life, Dennis Rodman firstly claimed to be one of 40-plus siblings, the origins of whom are indeterminate – Dennis had no contact with his biological father from very early childhood until 2012. He has married three times, initially to Annie Bates(1992-93) with whom he has a daughter; then to Carmen Electra(1998-99); and thirdly to Michelle Moyer(2003-12), with whom he has a son and daughter. Recent reports suggest that his debts re- child and ex-wife support are close to $1 million.
