Demi Lovato Wiki Biography
The American actress and singer Demetria Devonne Lovato will be more familiar to television viewers and music enthusiasts alike by the shorter form of her name – she is Demi Lovato, a star who, despite her relatively recent rise to fame, has already amassed an estimated net worth of $15 million. Originally a child actress on the popular “PBS Kids” children’s programme “Barney & Friends”, Demi Lovato has come a long way since. Ever since first proving herself a capable singer, Lovato has continued to release successful studio albums and participate in various tours, and her achievements to date include several singles that have been certified platinum, as well as an album at the very top of the Billboard 200 chart.
Between Lovato’s youth and obvious talent, it seems like the singer and television star has nowhere to go but up – and as Lovato’s fame increases, so, too, will her net worth. Born on 20 August 1992 in the city of Albuquerque in New Mexico, USA, Demi Lovato first became involved with acting and performing from a very young age. Even as a child, Lovato was already making a name for herself through her appearances on the children’s show “Barney & Friends” – where she had the benefit of acting alongside her friend, actress and singer Selena Gomez. Despite her success on television, however, Demi Lovato did not have an altogether easy childhood – in an interview with Ellen DeGeneres, the rising star admitted she had been bullied at school, to the point where she’d opted for homeschooling instead. Nonetheless, this would not deter Lovato from pursuing a career as an actress and performer, and in 2008, she appeared on the Disney television film “Camp Rock” alongside the popular Jonas brothers –Kevin Jonas, Joe Jonas and Nick Jonas.
“Camp Rock” opened a lot of doors for Demi Lovato, leading to the launch of Lovato’s music career with her “Demi Live! Warm Up Tour”. Lovato’s debut album, titled “Don’t Forget”, was released soon afterwards – still in 2008. It proved a commercial success, giving Demi Lovato’s already rising net worth a considerable boost with its sales figures of over half a million in the US alone. The very next year, Lovato would become the lead actress in the Disney sitcom “Sonny with a Chance”, where her acting abilities were praised by critics as being on par with, or perhaps even better than those of another of Lovato’s friends, Miley Cyrus. Though “Sonny with a Chance” would be discontinued in 2011 owing to Lovato having to deal with problems in her private life, the increasingly popular singer continues to produce albums and singles – including her second album “Here We Go Again”, which was ranked #1 on the Billboard 200 on its first week.
How rich is Demi Lovato? At the moment, Lovato’s net worth is believed to reach up to $15 million. Lovato owes most of her fortune to her success as an actress and singer. In addition to appearances in various television projects, the young celebrity continues to work on releasing studio albums. Despite struggles to overcome the increasing levels of stress in her life, Demi Lovato remains one of the brightest young stars. With her recent single “Skyscraper” reaching the top ten on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, it seems that Lovato has more than managed to make the transition between child celebrity and an adult entertainer and singer.

Demi Lovato Quotes
- I’m not gonna lie. I was self-medicating. I was doing things like drinking and using [drugs], like a lot of teens do to numb their pain. [But now] I don’t drink, I don’t do drugs, I don’t throw up after my meals, I don’t starve myself. There’s nothing that I do that I feel ashamed of.
- There were two people [who were there for me]. No matter how many times we fight, we will always be in each others’ lives. Miley Cyrus and I are strong headed. When we fight it’s brutal and we’re like, “We’re never going to be friends again!” Then two days later, were like, “I love you and I miss you!” Selena Gomez and I, we never fight. She’s not a confrontational person at all. Both of them will never leave my life no matter what happens, because we’ve been through so much together.
- [on The Beatles song “Yesterday”] This song brings up so many memories and emotions because the lyrics are truly heartfelt and written with such incredible feeling in each word. The Beatles are such an inspiration to me.
- [on her third album, Unbroken] [It will] show my true colors. I think it’s finally the album that I’ve always wanted to make but I’ve never had the time to.
- [on whether she’ll focus more on music, movies or TV in the future] I think I’m gonna stick with the combination. I get bored pretty easily. I can’t do one or the other. I wanna continue to work as hard as I can. You’ll see me all over.
- (on Miley Cyrus) She sent me a Christmas present and that meant a lot to me because I didn’t get Christmas presents in there (rehab)… I just have incredible friends.
- (on her friend Selena Gomez) Selena and I hadn’t spoken in a long time. We just had some issues that we had to deal with. But the day I went into treatment I get a phone call from her and she was the one sobbing on the phone. She was like, ‘Are you OK? I’ve been crying non-stop. Are you sure you’re OK?’ And, all issues aside, I started crying too and I’m like, ‘Yes, I’m OK.’
- If you are going through that dark period, go to your family and closest friends. Don’t put yourself in danger. It’s very crucial that you get your feelings out – but don’t ever inflict harm on your own body because your body is so sacred. I wish I could tell every young girl with an eating disorder, or who has harmed herself in any way, that she’s worthy of life and that her life has meaning. You can overcome and get through anything.
- Yes, there have been times when I definitely have been tempted to get rid of my dinner. But I will deal with it for the rest of my life because it’s a life-long disease. I don’t think there’s going to be a day when I don’t think about food or my body, but I’m living with it, and I wish I could tell young girls to find their safe place and stay with it.
- [a message to her fans after leaving a rehabilitation center] The journey that I have been on had been very, very difficult over the past few months. I was dealing with issues that I know not only girls just my age but of all ages are dealing with. People that are probably watching this video right now are dealing with the issues that I had to and I hope to one day raise awareness of everything. I can’t tell you how much light you guys brought into my life in probably the darkest time of my life. Without you guys, I wouldn’t be here today. I wanted to let you guys know that I’m excited to get back to work.
- [on Miley Cyrus] She’s my best friend, so you better watch out. I will defend her for the rest of my life.
- [on her role in Camp Rock (2008)] It was a confidence booster. My character and I both like to rock out and now we’re not afraid to!
- The only thing I could see myself doing is music – songwriting or producing or something. I’ve never seen myself being in any other business, I’ve been working in this one since I was 5 years old! I could do other things, but I wouldn’t want to.
- [on Joe Jonas] He is my best friend. He has always been my best friend.
- I chose to leave public school. I was kind of bullied . . . Everyone signed a petition that said, “We all hate Demi Lovato”.
