Have you ever wondered how much wealth this retired athlete has accumulated so far? How rich Dan Haren is? According to sources, it is estimated that the total of Dan Haren’s net worth, as of mid-2017, revolves around the sum of $26 million, primarily acquired through his sports career in professional baseball which was active for 13 seasons, between 2003 and 2015.
Apart from American, Dan is also of Mexican and Irish ancestry. He went to Bishop Amat High School where he took his first steps towards baseball, playing as school team’s first baseman. After earning a college baseball scholarship, Dan attended Pepperdine University in Malibu, California, where he joined its Pepperdine Waves baseball team. Due to his good performances, in his first season he was rewarded with West Coast Conference Freshman of the Year honors. Later he earned WCC Player of the Year and second team College All-America recognitions. After graduation, he turned pro when he was drafted as pick No. 72 overall in the second round of the 2001 MLB draft by the St. Louis Cardinals.
Dan debuted as a pro in 2001 as a member of the Cardinals’ Short-Season A affiliate team New Jersey Cardinals in New York-Penn League. His MLB debut occurred in June 2003 when the St. Louis Cardinals faced the San Francisco Giants. In 2004, Dan was traded to the Oakland Athletics where he spent the next three seasons. In 2007 Haren had one of the most gainful seasons in his professional career, and was later selected for the MLB All Star game. All these involvements helped Dan Haren to establish himself as a young and prominent player and also provided the basis for his current net worth.
In 2008 Haren joined the Arizona Diamondbacks, after signing a four-season playing contract worth $44.75 million, and at the end of the season was selected for another MLB All Star game. Despite being ranked as No. 33 on The 50 Greatest Current Players in Baseball list by the Sporting News in 2009 and participating in another All Star game, the Diamondbacks traded Haren to the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim in July 2010. After two seasons, in 2012, Haren became a free agent after he bought out his contract for $3.5 million. It is certain that the latter venture made an impact on Dan Haren overall wealth.
From Los Angeles, he relocated to Washington where he signed a one-season contract with the Washington Nationals of $13 million in late 2012. In 2013, he returned to Los Angeles after signing a one-season deal, worth $10 million, with the Los Angeles Dodgers. In late 2014, the Dodgers traded Dan to the Miami Marlins, then in July 2015 he joined the Chicago Clubs where he finished his professional baseball career at the end of the season. Doubtlessly, all these involvements helped Dan Haren to boost the total size of his net worth.
Although retired, Dan Haren has still been involved in baseball – since December 2016 he serves as the Arizona Diamondbacks’ special pitching assistant and executive. This engagement has certainly added a notable sum to Dan Haren’s net worth.
When it comes to his personal life, Dan Haren has been married to Jessica since 2006, with whom he has welcomed two children. With his family, he currently resides in Orange County, California.
