Dalip Singh Rana Wiki Biography

Dalip Singh Rana was born on the 27th August 1972, in Dhiraina, Himachal Pradesh, India, and is a former professional wrestler, who under the alias The Great Khali, is probably best known for his imposing figure of 7 ft. 1″ (2.16 m) and 347 lbs (157 kg). He is also widely recognized from being the WWE World Heavyweight Champion, and the founder of Continental Wrestling Entertainment.

Have you ever wondered how much wealth this gigantic athlete has accumulated so far? How rich The Great Khali is? According to sources, it is estimated that his net worth as of early 2018, revolves around the sum of $1.5 million, which has been acquired primarily through his professional wrestling career that was active between 2000 and 2017.

Khali is one of seven children born into the poor Hindu family of Tandi Devi and Jwala Ram. In order to make ends meet, he was forced to do a series of odd jobs including serving as a security guard. Due to his rather noticeable physical appearance, he was recruited into the Punjab Police service in 1993. However, after several years of wrestling training, in 2000 he relocated to the US where he was selected for the specialized wrestling training camp. Under the alias Giant Singh, he debuted as a professional wrestler in October 2000 as a member of All Pro Wrestling. This engagement provided the basis of the current net worth of The Great Khali.

In 2001 he moved to San Francisco, California, where he was signed by the World Championship Wrestling, but after eight months he transferred to Japan, and signed a contract with the New Japan Pro-Wrestling. In the course of the next several years, between 2002 and 2006, The Great Khali honed his wrestling skills through various promotions, including the Mexican Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre as well as the All Japan Pro Wrestling. All these involvements helped The Great Khali to enlarge the total of his net worth, as well as spread his fame.

In January 2006, he signed with the WWE, and eventually adopted his stage name – The Great Khali. After feuds with famous opponents such as The Undertaker, John Cena and Dave Bautista, in July 2007 Khali won his only WWE World Heavyweight Champion title. It is certain that this major accomplishment helped The Great Khali to significantly increase the total of his wealth.

In February 2015, The Great Khali founded his own school of wrestling in Punjab, India, named Continental Wrestling Entertainment. His most recent active wrestling appearance occurred in July 2017 when he returned briefly to WWE’s Battleground to assist Jinder Mahal against Randy Orton in the Punjabi Prison event, since when he is considered to be retired. All these ventures have helped The Great Khali to enlarge the size of his revenues by a large margin.

The Great Khali had also made several memorable on-camera appearances outside the ring – he has featured in several popular movies such as “The Longest Yard” (2005) and “Get Smart” (2008) as well as in the TV series’ “Outsourced” and “Pair of Kings”, which have all contributed to the overall size of The Great Khali’s wealth.

When it comes to his personal life, since February 2002 The Great Khali has been married to Harminder Kaur, with whom he has welcomed a daughter. In February 2014 he became a US citizen, and with his family resides in Houston, Texas. He is “extremely religious”, and an avid follower of Ashutosh Maharaj, an Indian spiritual guru.
