Born Edward Charles Knoblauck on the 7th July 1968 in Houston, Texas USA, Chuck is a retired baseball second baseman and left outfielder, who played for such Major League Baseball (MLB) franchises as the Minnesota Twins (1991-1997), New York Yankees (1998-2001), and Kansas City Royals (2002).
Have you ever wondered how rich Chuck Knoblauch is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Knoblauch’s net worth is as high as $22 million, an amount earned largely through his successful career as a baseball player.
Chuck was introduced to the game of baseball from a young age, as his father is Ray Knoblacuh, who played baseball, although in minor leagues, and also later worked as a coach. Furthermore, his uncle was also a baseball player – Eddie Knoblauch. After high school, Chuck enrolled at Texas A&M University in College Station. There, he played baseball for the college team, and was a part of the season in which his team had 58 wins, which is the highest total in school history. Also, while at the university he was named second team All-American. He declared for the 1989 MLB Draft, and was selected in the first round by the Minnesota Twins, for which he played until 1997, when he was traded to the New York Yankees.
While in Minnesota, Chuck’s net worth increased significantly thanks to the contracts he signed over the years. Also, he played his best baseball, making into the All-Star team four times, 1992, 1994, 1996 and 1997, while he was also the AL Rookie of the Year in 1991, and the same year the Twins won the World Series, a great start for a rookie.
He became one of the best Twins player and dearest to fans, however, he was traded to the Yankees on his request, which led to him being one of the most hated players by the Twins fans. He continued with his great performances, though he struggled at the beginning. Together with Derek Jeter he formed one of the greatest double play combinations in history, which would win three consecutive World Series with the Yankees, from 1998 to 2001. His contract expired after 2001 ended, and instead of renewing contract with the Yankees, he signed a one-year deal with the Kansas City Royals, as his numbers drastically declined, hitting only .056 in the final game of the 2001 World Series.
His numbers were at best mediocre while with the Royals, and when he didn’t receive a new offer from the Royals in 2003, Chuck decided to retire from baseball.
Several years after retirement, Chuck admitted that he was using human growth hormones during his playing career, in order to improve his performance, however, it didn’t helped him.
Regarding his personal life, Chuck has married and divorced three times, firstly to Lisa Johnson from 1995 to 1999, then to Stacey Victoria Stelmach, with whom he has a child, from 2002 to 2010.
Then in 2011 he married Cheri Olvera, however, the two divorced in 2013.
Chuck has had problems with the law, being charged several times for domestic violence against his wives, Stacey and later Cheri. This caused the cancelation of Chuck’s proposed induction into the Minnesota Twins Hall of Fame.
