So how rich is Chad Reed? Sources estimate that Chad’s net worth is over $60 million; he has earned his wealth during his long career as a racer since 1997.

Since Chad was a young kid he had the ability to compete at a very high level in sports. Between 2000-2009, Chad was one of the most successful supercross and motocross racers, but actually his career started in 1997 when he won the foremost Australian Junior Championship. Then he turned to professional racing in 1998, and in 1999 and 2000 he won 250cc championship in Australia. Chad then gained the number one USA ranking in AMA East Cost Lites SX Championship in 2002, and continued his achievements in the USA in 2003 and 2004 when he won the US open championship. During the X-Games in 2005, Chad earned a Bronze medal. These successes formed a sound basis to his net worth.

In 2006 Chad lost the Championship title by only two points when he took third place in the deciding race, in a season when Chad won two races. In 2007, he decided to establish his own team and separate from Yamaha, following in the footsteps of Jeremy McGrath, but still getting help from Yamaha. His net worth was continuing to rise.

In 2008 and 2009 Chad came back to win the Supercross Championship in Australia. His achievements continued in 2009, when he won the Monster Energy Triple Crown MX Championship in the USA. Of course these seasons added significantly to his net worth.

Reed reasoned his poor performance during 2010 season was to being a new dad, besides his close friend Andrew McFarlane’s death. He withdrew from the Supercross competition after a collision with other racers which broke his hand. In Newcastle, Australia he won the first round of Super X, then went back to the USA to test many different types of bikes, planning for a powerful competition in AMA Supercross in 2011, which he started by forming his new team, this time getting support from Honda. The final race was in Las Vegas which Chad won, but lost the championship by just four points. These performances still helped add to his net worth.

In 2012 Reed had a heavy crash during the seventh round of AMA Supercross in Dallas, which result a several injuries including to his left knee, with some requiring surgery. On his return, Chad tweaked his arm when crashing in 2013, after undergoing a second knee operation. After several other crashes and collisions which lead to Chad having more surgery, he changed his sponsor to Kawasaki in 2014. By riding a new bike, he moved to third place in the season opener in California, but in the final lap he had another heavy crash which left him with a shoulder injury. However, he didn’t give up, so tried to race again in Texas, but his shoulder was getting worse and he missed the rest of the season.

Chad Reed has now decided to concentrate on riding, and to disband his “22′ Team – also his rider’s number. However, his sponsors such as: Suzuki, Yamaha, Honda, Fox Racing, Kawasaki and Pro Circuit are still supportive; he is still in demand, and his net worth has now reached an impressive level.

In addition to his many championship wins and awards, for his effective role in service to motorsports, Chad was also rewarded by being made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2011.

In his personal life, Chad is married to high school sweetheart Ellie Brady, who has been his ‘rock’ since they went travelling in 2001. They have a son and a daughter, and are based in Tampa, Florida USA.
