Casey Mears was born on the 12th March 1978, in Bakersfield, California, USA and is a race car driver, best known for participating in the NASCAR Sprint Cup and Nationwide Series’. He is the son of former racer Roger Mears and nephew of Rick Mears, who is a four-time winner of the Indianapolis 500. At the beginning of 2006, Mears scored his most important victory at Daytona’s 24-hour race together with Scott Dixon and Dan Wheldon for Chip Ganassi Racing. They achieved the record for the fastest race in the class of the Daytona prototypes with 723 driven laps. Mears is the first full-time NASCAR driver to win this race.
How much is the net worth of Casey Mears? It has been estimated by authoritative sources that the overall size of his wealth is as much as $25 million, as of the data presented in early 2017. Car racing is the main source of Mears fortune.
Mears celebrated his NASCAR debut in the Busch Grand National Series in 2001, on the Homestead Miami Speedway in the car with the number 66 for Cicci-Welliver Racing. From 21st place on the grid he finished the race in 28th position. After selling the team to Wayne Jesel, Mears drove the entire next season for the team, and with two results in the top 10, he finished 21st in the championship. Starting from 2003, he drove the Dodge with the number 41 for Chip Ganassi Racing in the Nextel Cup; he ended his rookie season in the 35th position. In 2004, he scored two pole positions; during the 2005 season, Mears changed the car with the starting number 42 of Chip Ganassi thus replacing Jamie McMurray, but in the middle of 2006, it was announced that Mears would leave Chip Ganassi Racing at the end of the season and switch to Hendrick Motorsports for 2007 replacing Brian Vickers. About a month later, he won his first race in the Busch Series on the Chicagoland Speedway.
Since 2007, Mears has driven for Hendrick Motorsports, scoring his first victory in the Nextel Cup that year on Lowe’s Motor Speedway. His first pole position for Hendrick Motorsports he took on the 13th July 2007 on the Chicagoland Speedway – at the end of the season, he finished 15th in the championship. The 2008 season was not very successful for Mears; after two top five results in the first five races, he showed only one result among the top 20 in the following races. In the middle of 2008, it was officially announced that the car with the starting number 5 will no longer be driven by Mears for the 2009 season, so Mears subsequently piloted a Chevrolet for Richard Childress Racing, but the season was not much better than the previous year, ending with Mears only ranked 21th overall.
Mears began the 2010 season driving for Keyed-Up Motorsports, but with this team he only managed to qualify once for a race. From 2011 to 2013, he raced for Germain Racing, then in 2014, the above mentioned team partnered with Richard Childress Racing and Casey finished the season in 26th position. He stayed in the same team for the following two years without major changes in his career. At the beginning of 2017, it was announced that he would drive a Ford Mustang for the team of Biagi DenBeste Racing.
Finally, in the personal life of Casey Mears, he has been married to Trisha Grablander since 2010.
