Aziz Ansari Wiki Biography
Aziz Ishmael Ansari was born on 23rd February 1983, in Columbia, South Carolina, USA. Aziz is well known as a stand up comedian, television and film actor usually appearing in various comic roles. One of the most important roles landed by Aziz Ansari is the one of Tom Haverford in the television series “Parks and Recreation” (2009 – present). As far as the net worth of Ansari is concerned, the acting is the main source of it. He has been active in the entertainment industry since 2004.
So, how wealthy is this comedian, film and television actor? Sources have estimated that the net worth of Aziz Ansari reaches the sum of $10 million, all accumulated from his work in the entertainment industry.
Aziz Ansari’s parents are migrants from Tamil Nadu, India; has father, Shoukath, is a gastroenterologist, and mother, Fatima a medical administrator. Since early childhood Aziz was successful in mathematics and sciences, and graduated with a Master’s degree in marketing from the University of New York. On the other hand, he liked the acting and making people laugh. He began his career as a stand up comedian, appearing at the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre. The enjoyment provided by these performances led him to another venture which was making short films. In cooperation with other comedians including Paul Scheer and Rob Huebel, and the director Jason Woliner they created film series entitled “Shutterburgs“, “Illusionators“, which ran for two seasons, but opened horizons for the group. This led Aziz to the even greater role of Tom Haverford in the political satire series created by Greg Daniels and Michael Schur “Parks and Recreation“ which has been broadcast since 2009. This role added considerably to the overall amount of Aziz Ansari’s wealth, as the series is very popular and has high ratings. Moreover, Ansari was nominated for the American Comedy Award as the Outstanding Comedy Supporting Actor in 2014.
Another source of Aziz’s net worth and popularity is acting on the big screen. He debuted with a small role in the film “School for Scoundrels” (2006) directed by Todd Phillips. Ansari continued his career working with Adam Sandler, Seth Rogen, Leslie Mann and other well known actors. In 2011, Aziz landed the leading role in the comedy “30 Minutes or Less”, alongside Jesse Eisenberg, Danny McBride and Nick Swardson, and directed by Ruben Fleischer. Critics provided mixed reviews although the box office grossed $40 million while the budget was over $28 million. Ansari has also voiced several animated films including “Ice Age: Continental Drift” (2012).
Other notable works include hosting the MTV Movie Awards in 2010. Despite his busy schedule, Aziz is still actively touring stand-up comedian. The main theme of his performances is his personal life and various events of his own experience.
Having a look at his personal life, it is clear that Aziz Ansari has been a bachelor for a long time. However, it has been announced that he is dating Courtney McBroom. Aziz is also a philanthropist, he helping to raise funds for the victims of Boston Marathon and Oxfam America.

Aziz Ansari Quotes
- As a comedian I can talk about anything as long as I make it funny. So it’s pretty cool if I can get people thinking about immigration or feminism or the food industry at my stand- up shows
- When I tour, it’s like, well, like a food tour as much as a comedy tour. I try to eat at all the weird places, the obscure barbecue joints, burger places. There are a few spots in L.A. that I’m obsessed with – one of them is the Taco Zone taco truck on Alvarado. There are secret off-menu items that are amazing.
- Like with Parks and Recreation, it’s so much fun because the people writing it are funny and they’re open and you just go in there and have a good time. It’s pretty much the easiest job I’ve ever had.
- I’m kind of obsessed with food. I like to eat.
- I was 18 when I started. I was hanging out with some friends and they asked if I had tried stand-up before. I hadn’t, but I thought: ‘What the hell?’ So I went to an open mic night, and I liked it.
- For the majority of the time, I may as well have been just a really tan white kid. You know, I may as well have just been, like, a fat kid.
- Every time I’ve done comedy in, like, traditional comedy clubs, there’s always these comedians that do really well with audiences but that the other comedians hate because they’re just, you know, doing kind of cheap stuff like dancing around or doing, like, very kind of base sex humor a lot, and stuff like that.
- One of the big things I miss about New York is not my friends so much; it’s Shake Shack, the burger place. I miss Shake Shack.
- I was a dishwasher at one of those Japanese places that cook on your table. Not too fun.
- Do It Under the Influence Yourself! That’s what we’re shooting for! Get drunk and make your dreams come true.
- A lot of people my age think stand up sucks.
- After you do a joke a few times, you have material that you know works. Although sometimes I have a joke that has worked a bunch of times and then one night it’ll flop. And that’s when I really take a hard look at myself and say: ‘Well, that crowd is obviously wrong. That crowd has absolutely no idea what it’s talking about.’
