Andrew Paul Wachowski Wiki Biography
Andrew Paul Wachowski was born on 29 December 1967, in Chicago, Illinois USA, into a family of Polish ancestry, but is best known as Lilly Wachowski, a screenwriter, producer and film director who worked on ‘’The Matrix’’ trilogy alongside her sister Lana, and in addition to that, has had another notable project, ‘’V for Vendetta’’.
So just how rich is Lilly Wachowksi as of late 2017? According to authoritative sources, the filmmaker has a net worth of over $125 million, accumulated largely from her over two decades- long career in the previously mentioned field.
Lilly, who previously identified as male, attended Kellogg Elementary School and later Whitney Young High School, where she reportedly took part in the school’s theatre activities alongside her sister, Lana. After that she enrolled into Emerson College in Boston, but quit graduating and started working for the family’s house painting business, concurrently writing for Marvel Comics. However, Lilly made her debut as a screenwriter when with her sister Lana she co-wrote ‘’Assassins’’, released in 1995, However, the duo rose to fame when they wrote the script for ‘’The Matrix’’, released in 1999. The film was a box office hit, grossing more than $463 million, starring the prominent American actor Keanu Reeves, who portrayed Neo, the computer hacker who discovers that there is something wrong with the world, as it is being run by the so called ‘’matrix’’. This science fiction move received an overwhelmingly positive response from the audience and critics, and went on to win four Oscars and 34 other awards. ‘’The Matrix’’ was followed by the release of ‘’The Matrix: Reloaded’’ in 2003, which in the same manner grossed a vast amount of money but wasn’t as acclaimed as the first film, but still won eight awards, including the Teen Choice Award for Choice Movie – Drama/Action Adventure. Subsequently, its third and final part, ‘’Matrix Revolutions’’ hit cinemas across the world in 2003, but once again, didn’t fully meet the standards and success of the two previous films. However, Lilly’s net worth benefited again.
Wachowski went on to work for several video games in the Matrix franchise, but most importantly collaborated with her sister Lana once again, and created ‘’V for Vendetta’’, a publicly praised action drama movie released in 2006, and starring Natalie Portman and Hugo Weaving. The movie earned 27 nominations besides winning seven awards. such as a Saturn Award and a Special Award at the Brothers Manaki International Film Festival. Continuing to work in the same manner, Lilly and Lana made ‘’Cloud Atlas’’ in 2012, featuring Halle Berry and Tom Hanks; it was also nominated for a Golden Globe award, and was well received by the audience.
When it comes to Lilly’s latest project, she produced ‘’Sense8’’, a popular Netflix television series in 2015, a series focused on a group of people who are suddenly linked mentally and forced to fight for their survival as they are in danger from the rest of the world, which sees them as a threat. Generally speaking, ‘’Sense8’’ is acclaimed, and has been nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards. The series special will be released In 2018,.
