Ana Ortiz Wiki Biography
Ana Ortiz was born on 25 January 1971, in Manhattan, New York City USA, of Puerto Rican descent through her father, and Irish-American through her mother Ana is a singer and actress, probably best known for being part of the series “Ugly Betty” playing Hilda Suarez. She’s been active in the industry since 1995 and all of her efforts have helped put her net worth to where it is today.
How rich is Ana Ortiz? As of late 2017, sources estimate a net worth that is at $2 million, mostly earned through a successful career in acting. She’s appeared in several films and also had recurring roles in T shows such as “Boston Legal” and “Over There”. As she continues her career, it is expected that her wealth will also continue to increase.
Ana originally intended to pursue a career as a ballerina, studying the art for eight years, however, later on she decided to focus on a different discipline due to difficulties while dancing, and so switched to singing, attending the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts. After matriculating, she attended the University of Arts in Philadelphia, and after graduating would start to perform with several regional theatre companies. She became a part of the production of “Hair” playing Chrissy, and other projects she was a part of included “Dog Lady and the Cuban Swimmer”, “Salvador Dali Make me Hot”, and “In Arabia, We’d All Be Kings” which was named one of the 10 best plays of 1999 by Time Out New York.
Ortiz then found more opportunities on television, which started to increase her net worth. She made appearances in popular shows such as “Everybody Loves Raymond”, “NYPD Blue” and “ER”, and then had a first regular role in the short-lived “Kristin”, which aired in 2001. Two years later she became the star of “AUSA” which was also short lived, however, then after having a recurring role in “Boston Legal”, she was cast as the sister of the lead character in 2006’s “Ugly Betty”. This show would become highly popular, and continue to develop her net worth, although meantime she also had film projects, including a starring role in “Tortilla Heaven”. She also did voice work in “Batman: Gotham Knight” before guest starring in the second season of “Army Wives”. In 2010, she appeared in the music video “Cuando me enamoro” by Enrique Iglesias; all these added steadily to her net worth.
After the end of “Ugly Betty” in 2010, Ana appeared in the film “Big Mommas: Like Father, Like Son” while filming other series pilots. She then had a recurring role in the comedy series “Hung”, before in 2012 being cast as the lead in the series “Devious Maids”, which aired on Lifetime, and received positive reviews. In 2013, she became a guest in the soap opera “Revenge”, and the following year also had a guest role in “How to Get Away with Murder”. One of her latest projects is the film “Love Is All You Need?”
For her personal life, it is known that Ortiz married musician Noah Lebenzon in 2007 and they have two children. During her free time she enjoys writing poetry, water sports, hiking and horseback riding. She also raises awareness of domestic abuse, after stating that she was in an abusive romantic relationship during her 20s.
