Born as Cobi N’Gai Jones on the 16th June 1970, in Detroit, Michigan USA, he is a retired soccer player, best known to the world for playing 11 seasons with the Los Angeles Galaxy, winning several trophies including the MLS Cup twice, then the CONCAF Champions’ Cup once, and was the Major League Soccer Western Conference Champions five times with the LA Galaxy.

Following his retirement, Cobi became assistant coach to Ruud Gullit at the Galaxy, and in 2008 became interim head coach after the departure of Gullit.
