Justin Gunnar Walter Chancellor was born on 19 November 1971, in London, England, of part-Norwegian as well as English ancestry, and is a musician, best known for being the bass player for the rock band Tool. He was also formerly a member of the band Peach. He’s been involved in many music collaborations over the course of his career, and all of his efforts have helped put his net worth to where it is today.

Eventually, Chancellor moved to the United States in 1995, and then joined Tool full time. While the rock band was formed five years prior, he would replace their original bassist Paul D’Amour. Their first album with Chancellor was “Aenima” released in 1996, since when Tool has become one of the most dominant forces in the alternative metal movement. A few of their other albums include “Lateralus” and “10,000 Days” which found critical and commercial success. Many critics have described Tool as a mix of art rock, progressive rock, and psychedelic rock. They’re currently working on a new album set to release in 2017 and have been continuing to tour each year.

Aside from his work with Tool, Chancellor also started the M.T.Void music project with Sweet Noise’s Piotr “Glaca” Mohammed. In 2004, he played bass for the band Isis on the song “Altered Course”. Two years later he also provided his music skills in the Isis song “Weight”.

Justin also started the store Lobal Orning with his wife in California, however it closed in 2008. Two years later, he worked with Intronaut for their title track “Valley of Smoke”. In 2012, he joined Fusion Syndicate in the song “In the Spirit Of…” Two years later, he was featured in their album “Prog Box”.

For his personal life, it is known that Justin is married to Shelee Dykman Chancellor. He’s well known for performing with his main bass which is a Wal 4-string, which he’s been using since recording “Aenima” with Tool.
