Tamer Hosny Wiki Biography
Tamer Hosny was born on the 16th August 1977, in Cairo, Egypt, and is a singer, actor and composer, currently signed to Free Music, an Egyptian production company. His single “Habibi Wenta B’eed” brought him great success in the Arab world. Later, he succeeded in winning international awards and many titles, such as the best African artist from Afrikaans Music in the Year 2010. Hosny has been active in the entertainment industry since 1998.
How much is the net worth of Tamer Hosny? Authoritative sources have estimated that the overall size of his wealth is equal to $10 million, as of the data presented in the middle of 2017. Music is the main source of Hosny’s fortune.
To begin with, the boy was raised in Egypt. Being young, he had a dream to become a footballer but he failed. Then he tried classical singing inspired by artists like Abdel Halim Hafez and Farid El Atrache. He played the piano and guitar, and later began to write and arrange songs.
Being 18 years old, at a party where he was singing on the occasion of the birthday of a friend, he met Nasr Mahrous, who spotted him and invited him to participate in the program of “The chain Al-Nil lel monawaate”. Afterwards, he had the opportunity to record his first single “Habibi wenta beid” in 2001, then in 2002, he sang in duet with Sherine Abdel Wahhab, a childhood friend in the album which later became a best seller. Unfortunately, for having deviated from military service, Tamer was sentenced to one year’s imprisonment, however, this did not distract him from his career – on the contrary, he attracted the sympathy and compassion of all his fans who adored him.
After he was released from the prison, Tamer starred in the film “Halet Hob” (2003). At the end of 2004, the album “Hobb” has been released, and was ranked number one at the beginning of 2005 with more than 700,000 copies sold, so Tamer Hosni was compared to the great names of contemporary singers. In 2005 and 2006, he was named the Best Male Singer by Dear Guest, and also in 2006, he was named the Best Young Singer by the listeners of Egyptian radio. In 2007, Hosni released two albums “Ya Bint El Aih” and “ElGana Fi Byotna”, and the same year he was named the Most Successful Artist by Akhbar El Negoum Magazine, the Most Loving Fans by The Mediterranean Festival as well as winning a number of other awards.
The following year, the singer released “Arrab Kaman” and “Smile”, but in the autumn of 2009, he was confronted with allegations of plagiarism: his song “Ha’esh Hayati” was said to have copied parts of the song “Why not Us” by the German band Monrose. The album “Elly Gai Ahla” (2010) achieved outstanding commercial success, and afterwards, he released the albums “Bahebak enta” (2013) which was named The Best Album in the Middle East Music Awards. One video of a song taken from the album – “180 Daraga” (2014) – won the Best Music Video in the World Music Awards. In 2016, Tamer was named The Best Arabian Artist by Mureux D’or.
Finally, in the personal life of Tamer Hosny, he married the Moroccan singer Bassma Bousil in 2012 – in 2013, their daughter Talia was born.
