Backstreet Boys: Wiki Biography
Backstreet Boys is an Orlando, Florida-based American boy band which is regarded as the most popular boy band in the world to date. Established in 1993 in Florida, the band consists of members A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, Nick Carter, Kevin Richardson as well as Brian Littrell who have all been with the band since its formation. The group has been active in the field of music since 1993.
One of the most popular and commercially successful bands of all time, how rich is Backstreet Boys at the present? As of 2015, Backstreet Boys have amassed a net worth of $200 million, with the revenues from their album sales the main source of income. Also, concerts including on international tours have also added considerably to the band’s wealth.
Brought together by Lou Pearlman in 1992, the band initially performed locally in Florida in different malls, at parties and social events before the band was signed by Zomba/Jive records. After touring Europe and other parts of the world, they released their debut self-titled album in 1996, which became an international hit. As the album was later released in America, it took no time to find its songs getting charted. Their single entitled “I’ll Never Break Your Heart” from the album went on to become certified gold, raising the popularity of the band and the sales of their new album, benefiting the net worth of all band members.
Songs like “Quit Playing Games With My Heart” and “Anywhere For You” were also highly rated and the former went to #2 on the Billboard Hot 100. Eventually, the album was certified platinum by RIAA as it sold in millions around the world. The band held onto its fame by releasing their second album “Backstreet’s Back” which also became a hit in the market. To date, the band has released eight studio albums including “Millennium”, “Black & Blue”, “Unbreakable”, “Never Gone”, “This Is Us” etc., the most recent being “In a World Like This” which was released in 2013.
Due to some internal and managerial disputes, one of the group members, Kevin Richardson left the band in 2006, but rejoined in 2012. As of now, all the initial members of the group are intact and have been producing successful albums and songs for their fans worldwide. The band has achieved stardom through the hard work and passion of its members which has also been rewarded by seven Grammy nominations, two American Music Awards and many other reputable awards.
For now, the group members, all of whom are multi-millionaires thanks to their successful band, reunite from time to time for international musical tours. They are still consistently releasing new albums which have been keeping their millions of fans happy. Apart from being a superstar band around the world, this group has also appeared in two movies, “This Is The End” and “Backstreet Boys: Show ‘Em What You’re Made Of”. As of now, Backstreet Boys is still the most successful boy group in the world which lets its fans dance to its tunes, and also enjoys a net worth of $200 million.
