Andrew McMahon Wiki Biography
Andrew Ross McMahon was born on the 3rd September 1982, in Concord, Massachusetts USA, and is a pianist, singer and songwriter, but probably best known to the world as the vocalist of the rock bands Something Corporate and Jack’s Mannequin.
Have you ever wondered ow rich Andrew McMahon is, as of early 2017? According to authoritative sources, it has been estimated that Andrew’s net worth is as high as $7 million, earned through his successful career in the entertainment industry. Apart from having a successful career as a member of bands, he also has a respectable solo career, releasing albums “Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness” (2014), and “Zombies on Broadway” (2017), which have also improved his wealth.
Andrew’s childhood was marked by frequent moves; he lived in Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey, then Bexley, Ohio and California, where he went to Dana Hills High School, located in Dana Point. While living in California, his family spent time at his mother’s old home, following the death of her brother, Andrew’s uncle. His uncle was an artist, and that particularly inspired young Andrew to become involved in music.
At only nine years old, he had started playing the piano without any formal lessons, and little by little he started composing his own music and writing lyrics. While in high school he formed his first band, called Left Here. However, the band soon broke up and Andrew continued on his own, recording a four track demo, which was later released as an EP.Subsequently he and four other musicians, including Josh Partington, Reuben Hernandes, Brian Ireland and Kevin “Clutch” Page, formed the band Something Corporate.
Their first full length album came out in 2000, entitled “Ready… Break”, released through the Coach House label. After the initial success of the album, they soon signed with the independent label Drive-Thru, which is a part of MCA. Two years after their debut album they released a second album, “Leaving Through the Window”, which topped the US. Heatseekers chart, and also reached No. 101 on the US Billboard 200 chart.
Just a year later they released their third and final album, called “North”. Andrew had different plans and wanted to try something new, and started another band, called Jack’s Mannequin, with Bobby Anderson, Mike Wagner and Jonathan Sullivan. With the new band, Andrew released three albums as well. Their first album came out in 2005, entitled “Everything in Transit”, which reached No. 37 on the US Billboard 200 chart. Three years later, Andrew took a step further, and with the album “The Glass Passenger”, had put his name on the map of the music industry, since it reached the top 10 on the US Billboard 200 chart, landing at No. 8. He disbanded the group in 2012, but before that recorded and released a third album, entitled “People and Things”, which also reached thetop 10, this time No. 9, increasing Andrew’s popularity and net worth further.
Regarding his personal life, Andrew has been married to Kelly since 2006; the couple has one child together.
Back in 2005 he was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia; fortunately it was in early stages and he completely recovered. A year after that event, he started the non-profit organization called Dear Jack, which focuses on raising funds for cancer research.
